WOONSOCKET â The city firefighters union has unanimously agreed to accept a 2.75 percent, retroactive pay hike for the fiscal year that began on July 1 â now it's up to the City Council to approve the pact.
The proposal would end an arbitration dispute with roots that go back to a multi-year contract ironed out in 2009, during a particularly turbulent period in relations between the city and Local 732 of the International Association of Fire Fighters.
PAWTUCKET â âSanta to the Starsâ Brady White is now a screen star in his own right with a new music video that is appearing on YouTube.
Called âSanta's Wrap,â the video features the Pawtucket resident performing a rap-style song that he wrote himself. Since it made its debut earlier this month, âSanta's Wrapâ has garnered over 31,000 hits on the Internet video site. The easiest way to access the video is by looking up âSanta's Wrapâ on Google or by visiting YouTube and searching âSanta's Wrap.â

WOONSOCKET â CVS/Caremark won a round Tuesday as the Zoning Board unanimously rejected an abutter's plea to quash final plans for a new pharmacy proposed for busy Chipman's Corner.
Ron Genereux of 41 Dana St. said the board spurned his argument that the Planning Board should have taken another look at the proposal because it contains new elements that will affect the flow of traffic in the congested intersection.
âIt's what we expected I think,â said Genereux. âThe zoning board was predisposed to grant CVS permission to move forward.â
Thomas O. Seeley
UXBRIDGE- Thomas O. Seeley, 80, of Uxbridge, passed away on December 21at Landmark Medical Center with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia (Poulin) Seeley.
Born in Worcester, MA on June 2, 1930 he was the son of the late Guy and Nancy (Morrissey) Seeley.
Constance I. Peter
BELLINGHAM- Constance I. (Cummings) Peter, 73, of Bellingham, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at St. Camillus Health Center of Whitinsville, MA with her family by her side.

WOONSOCKET â As Christmas approaches, college students are returning home from their campuses near and far away, reuniting with hometown friends, high school pals and former teammates.
Very few students in a working-class city like Woonsocket proceed in a straight line from high school graduation to earning their college diploma in four or even five years. Some have to work to earn money for college. Others start off at one college, find they made the wrong choice for themselves and return home, choosing to attend CCRI or Rhode Island College as their goals change.
PAWTUCKET â As manager of Double-A Portland the past four seasons, Arnie Beyeler was at the forefront of nurturing while simultaneously pushing all of the better known prospects in the Red Soxâ farm chain. Beyelerâs mission was to not just get the likes of Clay Buchholz, Jacoby Ellsbury, Daniel Bard and Ryan Kalish ready for life at Triple-A, but to present them a sample of what life is like as a major leaguer.
Adrian M. Graves
PORT ST. LUCIE, FL- On December 16th, 2010, Adrian M. Graves passed away peacefully at home after a 1 year battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born August 28th, 1940 in Woonsocket, RI. He was the son of the late Henry Graves and late Madeleine (Monty) Graves both from Woonsocket .
Doris G. San Souci
NORTH SMITHFIELD- Doris G. San Souci 88, formerly of Mendon Rd. died Sunday at St. Antoine Residence.
She was born in Whitinsville, MA a daughter of the late Joseph and Lumina (Lamarque) San Souci. Doris worked for many years as an office clerk for various employers. She was a member of the Coast Guard Spars during WWII.
She is survived by a brother Wilfred San Souci of Whitinsville, a sister Lucienne Murphy of Neptune, NJ and a friend Suzanne Beale of Norwich, CT. She was also the sister of the late M. Jeannette San Souci.
