Life, weâ€™re often reminded, is a journey along a path. Marked by repeated twists, turns, bends and detours, we take comfort in knowing that each path is unique. No two people ever embark on a similar trek.
No road map, satellite-based navigation system, not even a Mapquest.com printout is required. Following oneâ€™s heart and ambitions serve as the main motivators, the idea of how we feel deep down aiding us to better grasping the wheel to steer towards oneâ€™s wants, needs and mindsets. In a nutshell, itâ€™s the journey within the journey.
MAPLEVILLE- Robert Ames, 57, of Zenon St., Mapleville, died Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Rhode Island Hospital.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Maynard L. and Catherine (Dwyer) Ames. He was a lifelong resident of Mapleville.
Mr. Ames plied his trade as a welder and was employed by Supreme Corporation in Harrisville and previously worked at Janell Truck Bodies.
Robert enjoyed fishing and playing in a pool league.
Robert J. Danis
MILFORD- Robert J. Danis, 86, of Milford MA, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012, in his home. He was the husband of Antoinette (Andreola) Danis of 52 years.
He was born in Woonsocket RI, son of the late George Danis Sr. and Rose (Halon) Danis and lived in Woonsocket before moving to Milford MA in 1959. He was a graduate of the Woonsocket High school class of 1942.
He was a World War II Navy Veteran.
Mr. Danis retired in 1984 from the former General Motors Corp. in Framingham where he was employed as a foreman and also on the repair line.
Leslie A. Imondi
WOONSOCKET- Leslie A. (Kuczer) Imondi, 66, of Knight St., died Tuesday January 17, 2012 in Landmark Medical Center, with her family by her side.
She was the wife of Richard A. Imondi. Richard and Leslie were married for 34 years.
Born in Woonsocket, daughter of the late Wasyl and Helen (Boyko) Kuczer.
Leslie worked as a LPN at Milford Whitinsville Regional Hospital for 44 years retiring in 2010.
She also was an artist specializing in watercolor.
JOHNSTON -- Before setting its sights on Fridayâ€™s big battle with undefeated Moses Brown, Burrillville had to deal with a pesky Johnston team determined to climb its way up the Division II-North standings.
Unfortunately for the Broncos, they didnâ€™t deal with their hosts very well, and as a result, they turned in one of their worst performances of the season.
The Broncos turned the ball over 32 times and scored just seven points in the final 8:57 of their Wednesday night contest against the Panthers and ended up on the short end of a 51-36 score.
CUMBERLAND â€” Representatives of Cops For Kids With Cancer Wednesday presented a $5,000 donation to the parents of Maya Spadano, a 3Â˝-year-old Cumberland girl who has been battling leukemia.
Robert Faherty, chairman of the charityâ€™s Board of Directors, along with Director John McManus, officially presented the check to the Spadano family at the Cumberland police station.
Cops For Kids With Cancer, a small non-profit organization made of law enforcement incur when their children are diagnosed with cancer.
Reina C. Leclerc
WOONSOCKET- Reina C. Leclerc 94, formerly of Woonsocket, died peacefully on January 17th at St. Antoine Residence. She was the wife of the late Clovis Leclerc.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Adelard and Laura (Brule) Dulac. Mrs. Leclerc was a hairdresser for the former Armandine Hair Salon many years ago. She retired in 1983 from the State of RI School Lunch Program where she worked for over twelve years. Reina enjoyed spending time with her family and considered her siblings to be her best friends.
Rhea R. Bouchard
NORTH PROVIDENCE- Rhea R. (Remillard) Bouchard, 92, of Nelson St., North Providence, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 in The Holiday Retirement Home, Lincoln, surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late Honore W. Bouchard who predeceased her on January 1, 1993.
Born in Waterford, NY, she was the daughter of the late William and Ida (Nolin) Remillard.
Joseph J. Indelicato
BELLINGHAM- Joseph J. Indelicato, 68, of Bellingham, MA passed away unexpectedly at home on January 16, 2012. He was the beloved husband for 30 years of Carol A. (Daigle) Indelicato.
Born in Revere, MA on December 4, 1943, he was the son of the late Ingatius and Louise (Marcantonio) Indelicato.
Rose M. Rathier
SMITHFIELD - Rathier, Rose M. (Shea), 93, died January 13, 2012 at home. She was the wife of the late Ralph L. Rathier.
Born in Georgiaville, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Rose (Beauchemin) Shea.
Rose leaves three daughters, Rose Marie Cipriano of Smithfield, Paulette A. Montgomery of Plymouth, MA, and Janet M. Ressler of Smithfield; eight grandchildren; Henry M. Cipriano III, Jessica R. Cipriano, Tiffany A. Ricci-Gidney, James P. Ricci, Jill A. Montgomery-Sousa, Kate A. Scammell, Laura A. Montgomery, and Molly Antosz; and six great-grandchildren.
