PAWTUCKET- Jennifer A. Charpentier, 37, of Anthony Ave., Pawtucket, died Thursday, January 20, 2011 at home.
Born in Woonsocket, she is survived by two sons, Andrew and Kyle and her former spouse, Todd Charpentier, all of North Smithfield.
She was the daughter of Carol A. (Leclair) and Craig Cook and Gerard Lachance and his wife Joyce, all of Woonsocket. She is also survived by her brother, Douglas M. Lachance and his wife Mary of Providence.

BURRILLVILLE- Georgina M. (Esten) Shaw, 92, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011 in Overlook Nursing Home, Pascoag. She was the wife of the late Marshall L. Shaw.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Harold O. and Mary (Brown) Esten.

UXBRIDGE- Cecile M. (Gaudreau) Rondeau, 86, of Uxbridge and formerly of Woonsocket passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the Pine Grove Health Center, Pascoag with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife for 48 years of Gerard R. Rondeau.
Born in Woonsocket, RI on April 19, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Albert and Valida (Desautels) Gaudreau.

WOONSOCKET- Ronald Anthony Perryman (March 12, 1967-January 20, 2011) passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, in his home in Woonsocket, RI. Ron was born and raised in Mass. and graduated from Bourne High School.
Ron was the beloved husband of Amy Perryman (Farrow) and devoted father to Aliviyah Precious and Allajah Precious Perryman.

NORTH SMITHFIELD- Russell A. Kafalas, 70, of No. Smithfield and formerly of Harrisville, died Jan. 16, 2011 at Mt. St, Francis Health Center, after a long struggle with Parkinsons disease. He was the beloved husband of Marjorie (Geer) Kafalas.
Born Jan. 28, 1940 in Woonsocket, a son of Florence (Brunelle) Kafalas of Slatersville and the late Constant Kafalas.
Russell worked as a Union Rep for General Motors for 32 years before retiring in 1992.

WOONSOCKET- Evelyn Carton, 82, of Cumberland, died Friday, December 17, 2010 at Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Ben Haywood Kay and the late Paul E. Carton.
Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Mary (Axon) Booth. She was a lifelong resident of Cumberland.
Mrs. Carton was a graduate of Cumberland High School, Class of 1945.
She was employed by Cumberland Farms, Forte Bros. Inc. and later at Elizabeth Webbing in Central Falls prior to her retirement.

PAWTUCKET — Most pro football experts figured Kelsey Fournier and her New England Patriots cheerleader teammates would have spent a chilly Sunday evening outdoors at Gillette Stadium, coaxing freezing fans into making noise for the home team in the AFC championship game.
Instead, the New York Jets ousted the favored Patriots last Sunday in the conference semifinals, ending the season for players, fans and cheerleaders alike.

Luis Cruz, of Woonsocket, who’s all bundled up against the frigid cold Saturday morning, can see his own breath as he waits for the bus on Main Street to take him to a friend’s house in Pawtucket. The forecast doesn’t get any better, with more frigid air expected Sunday and Monday, with daytime temperatures only reaching the upper teens.

Councils push for the acceleration of funding

Both the Cumberland and North Smithfield town councils this week unanimously approved resolutions urging Governor Lincoln Chafee and the General Assembly to pass legislation that will accelerate the allocation of the proposed phase-in of state school funding dollars.
The resolution, drafted and endorsed by the Rhode Island Coalition of Municipal Leaders, is making the rounds throughout the state over the next two weeks in an attempt to garner support from town and city councils.
