WOONSOCKET – It’s bad enough that the wins have come at a minimum this season – one league victory in the first seven games to be exact.
Now, head coach Kyle Ivey-Jones and his Woonsocket High squad are playing with somewhat of a depleted roster. Minus a handful of players that have decided to call it quits this winter, including starting guard Jessie Charette, the Villa Novans came up short once again on Monday night.
Certainly the ability to switch-hit in baseball can come in handy, paving the way for a batter to place himself in an advantageous situation against any pitcher they step in the box to face.
eorge Briggs has been coaching track & field athletes for a long time and certainly knows that during the indoor season having depth is of the utmost importance.
This year, with the addition of the long jump, there are 13 events. It may seem like a lot, but if you are weak in a particular area that can create problems in pulling out a positive outcome against a formidable opponent.
Briggs and his Villa Novans found that out the hard way in a Northern Division meet with neighboring rival Lincoln High last week.
