WARWICK- Fontenault, Marcel E., Sr., 82, died April 1, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Linda R. (Paolino) Fontenault and son of the late Aldor and Cecil (Gerard) Fontenault.
WOONSOCKET â€“ The real estate entity that held the mortgage on Walnut Hill Plaza has repurchased the ailing Diamond Hill Road shopping center in a foreclosure auction for $13 million.
The group of investors known as ML-CFC Commercial Mortgage Trust reclaimed the struggling strip mall from a subsidiary of New York-based Acadia Realty Trust, which had purchased it for $23.5 million in 2006.
There were no other offers on the sprawling shopping center during a public foreclosure auction on the grounds Friday, said lawyer Armando Batastini, representing the lenders.
Paul A. Simard Sr.
BLACKSTONE- Paul A. Simard Sr., 90, of Diana St., died Monday surrounded by his family in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester, MA. He was the husband of Rose B. (Parenteau) Simard.
Born in Canada he was a son of the late Joseph and Yvonne (Tremblay) Simard and was predeceased by six siblings.
Mr. Simard owned and operated Simard Custom Upholstery in Blackstone for more than twenty five years. He was a member of the Woonsocket Lodge of Elks and a life member of the Blackstone Lions Club. Mr. Simard served two years during WWII in the Canadian Army.
CUMBERLAND- Camille Dusseault, 83, of Cumberland, lovingly known to all as "Duke", passed away surrounded by his family Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Florence (Comtois) Dusseault, who he adored. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last September.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Onesime and Delia (Tessier) Dusseault. Mr. Dusseault lived most of his life in the Cumberland area. He was communicant of St. Joan of Arc Church of Cumberland Hill. He loved Father Bourdon's sermons because they were brief.
Philip J. Hoyle
NORTH SMITHFIELD- Philip J. "P.J." Hoyle, 74, of Railroad St., died March 30, 2014 at home. He was the husband of Bethany A. (Nazzaro) Hoyle whom he married January 22, 1966.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Philip H. and Rose L. (Hubert) Hoyle.
CUMBERLAND- Ann (Tripodi) Morel 70, resident of Cumberland RI, and formerly of Woonsocket RI, passed away March 29, 2014 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence RI.
She was the loving wife of 51 years to Norman Morel.
She was born in Woonsocket RI, daughter of the late Bruno & Tommasina (Solitro) Tripodi.
Besides her husband she is survived by a son, Jeffrey Morel of CA, and her two daughters, Sharon Archambault of Wrentham MA, and Lisa Chase of Cumberland RI, and nine grandchildren.
BURRILLVILLE â€“ The school bus company hired by the Burrillville School District two years ago is doing more than making sure Burrillvilleâ€™s students get to school on time and back home safe.
Theyâ€™re helping the girls at Burrillville High School look their best at prom time.
To help ease the financial burden of having to come up with enough money to buy expensive prom dresses that can cost as much as $400, Durham School Services is collecting gently used prom and cocktail dresses, evening gowns, and shoes and accessories donated by local businesses, to help cash-starved students.
REV. ARTHUR JOHN KING, OMI
MISSIONARY OBLATE PRIEST FOR 54 YEARS
LOWELL, MASSACHUSETTS- Rev. Arthur John King, OMI, 81, died on March 24, 2014, in Lowell, Massachusetts, after a lengthy illness. He was born in South Acworth, New Hampshire, on January 25, 1933, the son of the late Leon and Catherine (Dobek) King and was raised in New York City and Woonsocket, Rhode Island.
Doris A. St. Onge
WOONSOCKET- Doris A. St. Onge, 91, formerly of Spring St. Manville died Sunday morning at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Marcel N. St. Onge.
Born in Manville she was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Marie (Leclerc) Laliberte. She was a lifelong resident of Manville.
Mrs. St. Onge was employed at the Manville Jenckes mill and worked at International Data Services in Lincoln prior to retiring.
Doris was a communicant of St. James Parish and a member of the Golden Agers.
Juliette E. Duguay
WOONSOCKET- Juliette E. (Auger) Duguay, 96, died March 27, 2014 in Woonsocket Health & Rehabilitation Centre. She was the wife of the late Albert A. Duguay.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Alphonsina (Levesque) Auger.
