High school football | Clippers, Novans already turning the page to next season

November 30, 2014

The game had been over for nearly 15 minutes, maybe a bit longer, but the Cumberland High gridders remained on the Tucker Field turf posing for pictures for any amateur photographer who asked.

Some danced around with teammates, others issued hugs to parents while a few gathered around the one holding the annual Thanksgiving Day trophy to study the history behind it.

Head coach Josh Lima and his assistants did the same; it seemed no one wanted to leave after the Clippers delivered a 42-6 blow to traditional holiday rival Woonsocket on Saturday night.

CUMBERLAND – Cumberland High head coach Josh Lima chose to employ a few funky wrinkles to his offense during its Thanksgiving Day-postponed, non-league tilt against annual archrival Woonsocket on chilly Saturday night.

He claimed such designed plays to both offensive and defensive linemen had been installed way back in August and September, but had used them sparingly this fall.
