IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Palumbo would have run afoul of Ethics Commission

PROVIDENCE – Even if he had not withdrawn his high bid, Cranston state Rep. Peter Palumbo would not have been able to be awarded the contract to run concession stands at state beaches.
A RI Ethics Commission regulation prohibits General Assembly members from taking any other employment with the state – explicitly including being an independent contractor – until one year after he or she leaves the legislature.

Fly strips hanging over food preparation areas; cans of clam chowder stored in restrooms; mold in ice machines; fish fillets thawing on the counter in stagnant water; and foul, noxious odors coming from grease traps are just some of the more than 70 health and food code violations the state Department of Health recently found at concession stands at Rhode Island’s three state beaches - Misquamicut, Scarborough and Roger Wheeler, The Call and The Times has learned.

Jerominek Sr. Born Oct. 23, 1915 in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late John & Anna (Koziol) Paydos. She resided in Woonsocket before entering the St. Antoine Residence. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Woonsocket.

WYLIE, TX - Sylvia (Fiscaletti) Miranda, 91, of Wylie, Texas, formerly of Denby St. Woonsocket, died Tuesday July 29, 2014, in the Medical Center of Plano. Born in Woonsocket, daughter of the late Adolfo and Anna (Andreani) Fiscaletti. She was the wife of the late, Emile Bouley, and Fabiano Miranda.
Sylvia was a Manager and a Salesclerk for the former WT Grants Co. for 15 years.
She was a former member of the Royal Travelers, The Marchgino Club, St. Louis and St. Joseph Senior Citizens and the RSVP Linus Program.

Police: Man attacked officer

WOONSOCKET – An 18-year-old city man faces a felony assault charge after he allegedly attacked a local police officer who was responding to a domestic incident at his home early Saturday.
Patrolman Mathew Bourgoin reported he and Patrolman Michael Martinsen responded to the disturbance at 75 West Park Place at 4:39 a.m. and found Devon McKenna in an apparent intoxicated state while yelling at family members inside their third floor apartment.

He graduated from Woonsocket Senior High school in 1996 and attended the Bay State School of Technology in 2006. In his spare time he loved to watch WWE and play mafia wars. Will worked at BJ's Wholesale Clubs from 2002-2008. He moved to Maine in 2011 where he worked as kitchen staff with his favorite cousin Jesse at the Red Onion in Rangeley Maine.
