WOONSOCKET — Two men have been arrested and a third remains at large in the theft of an assault rifle in a house break on Pine Street last month, police said.
Emmanuel Rodriguez, 18, was arrested on a warrant for breaking and entering after a SWAT team surrounded his house on Cedar Street in Pawtucket on Friday.
WOONSOCKET — The deal is done, and the price isn't as bad as officials had feared. But it's still pretty bad: 7.125 percent.
That's the payback interest rate on the $11.5 million deficit reduction bond the city sold yesterday to Lord, Abbett & Co., a private investment management company headquartered in Memphis, Tenn.
“This is very expensive money,” said Finance Director Thomas M. Bruce.
An initial day of investigation ended without a cause being determined for the fire that heavily damaged the Seville Dye plant at 229 Fairmount St. Sunday.
“It’s still under investigation,” Deputy Fire Chief John Danis said after state and local fire investigators conducted an initial tour of the mill. Members of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and Explosives were also participating in the investigation, Danis said.
