The dough is made from a mixture of rice and flour, kneaded together, cut, and colored to shape
animals, flowers and figurines. It is a folk tradition in Taiwan. Forty-five students were selected to take part.

Main's alleged killer gets 18 years for probation violation

WOONSOCKET – A Providence man accused in the robbery and shooting death of gas station manager David D. Main outside Citizens Bank last fall has been sentenced to serve 18 years for violating his probation in connection with prior armed robberies.
Pleau, 33, was the gunman in a three-way conspiracy to the rob Main, 49, as he was depositing receipts from the nearby Shell station where he worked on Sept. 20, according to federal prosecutors.
