Blue Cross may no longer do business with Landmark

July 9, 2012

WOONSOCKET — Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island has mailed 198,000 letters to customers in the Greater Woonsocket area notifying them that the insurance company may no longer do business with Landmark Medical Center and the Rehab Hospital of Rhode Island as of Aug. 1 and Sept. 1, respectively.
That means BCBSRI’s members could still receive treatment at those hospitals, but they would be responsible for dealing directly with Blue Cross for claims reimbursement and paying the hospital out of their own pocket.
