A sizeable crowd turned out for the home opener of the Woonsocket Villa Novans football game against East Providence at Barry Field Saturday. The crowds brought the team good luck as they walked away with the 21-0 victory.
WOONSOCKET – A man whose lower lip had been pierced for jewelry in at least 10 spots had to be taken to the hospital when the cosmetic incisions started bleeding following a scuffle with police early Monday.
Justin M. Lawler, 25, and his girlfriend, Amanda Jeanne Glode, 29, both of 425 Diamond Hill Road, were both arrested shortly before 2 a.m.
Police said they were investigating a complaint of breaking and entering when they visited the couple’s third-floor apartment. The complaint was filed by Glode’s cousin, a woman in her 20s who lives in another apartment on the same floor.
WOONSOCKET – It’s primary day in the city, an all-Democratic affair that features seven candidates vying for three spots in the General Assembly.
And for two of those spots, the results of today’s polling are final because there are no challengers waiting in the wings to face off against the winners in the general election on Nov. 6.
