WOONSOCKET – Andria Britt, the woman who triggered a nationwide Amber Alert when she allegedly whisked her 6-year-old son to Washington state in violation of a custody order, was ordered held on $50,000 surety bail during her first appearance in Superior Court Thursday.

Magistrate Patricia Lynch Harwood called Britt “a flight risk.”

Looking sullen and withdrawn, Britt, 34, stood beside her attorney in Courtroom 14 to answer to one count of felony child snatching. Her lawyer, Gary Pelletier, entered a plea of not guilty on her behalf.
