Embattled House Speaker resigns

PROVIDENCE – Less than a year after his greatest legislative triumph – shepherding Rhode Island’s same-sex marriage law through a sometimes reluctant General Assembly – House Speaker Gordon Fox is resigning in disgrace from the most powerful political position in state government.
