Site for water treatment plant not a done deal

March 25, 2014

WOONSOCKET – Even though the city has already spent $390,000 on land to build a future water treatment plant, the Budget Commission has instructed an engineering company to re-evaluate five other sites that were previously rejected by an advisory panel.
At the urging of Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt, the commission voted 3-1 to hire the firm Camp, Dresser McKee to include the review as a component of a broader, $327,000 contract related to the plant.
