Cause of murky water at school still unclear

March 27, 2014

WOONSOCKET – The School Committee has directed the administration to solicit cost proposals to find out why hot water is still coming out of taps with a murky color at the twin middle schools off Hamlet Avenue.
Peter Fontaine, the facilities manager for education department, said the quality of the water has greatly improved after efforts to increase circulation in distribution system began eight weeks ago. But school officials are still not satisfied and they want to find out for sure if sluggish circulation, as they first suspected, is the cause of the problem, or if it’s something else.
