All-day K gets another look

WOONSOCKET – The latest plan to resurrect full-day kindergarten is more taxpayer-friendly than ever and no longer envisions the use of any classroom space at the Woonsocket Middle School complex, officials say.
Joseph Spagna, business manager for the Woonsocket Education Department, said initial forecasts that full-day kindergarten would result in a one-time increase of $688,000 in state aid next fiscal year were far too conservative and based on an inaccurate reading of education reimbursement schedules provided to the city by the Rhode Island Department of Education.
