UnitedHealth looks to cut Landmark from network

April 23, 2014

WOONSOCKET – UnitedHealthcare of New England is seeking the Department of Health’s approval to cut Landmark Medical Center and 52 of its physicians from the medical insurer’s coverage network, a move that would affect thousands of northern Rhode Islanders who regularly use Landmark.
The request comes after United and Landmark, newly acquired by the California-based for-profit hospital chain Prime Healthcare Services, were unable to iron out a new contract when the hospital emerged from receivership last year.
