Ernest P. Stockton
BELLINGHAM- Ernest P. "Ernie" Stockton, 63, of Bellingham, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2010 at home. He was the beloved husband for 40 years of Marie M. "Kelly" (Kahlenbeck) Stockton.
Born on June 28, 1947 in O'Leary, P.E. I., Canada, he was the son of the late Roland and Isabelle (Palmer) Stockton.
William L. Krapohl
BELLINGHAM- William L. Krapohl, 83, of Bellingham, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at home with family by his side. He was the beloved husband for 55 years of Jean A. (Hooper) Krapohl.
Born in Dedham, MA on February 12, 1927, he was the son of the late William H. and Helen (Francke) Krapohl.
EAST WINTHROP, MAINE--With his family by his side, Russell Charles Cotnoir, Sr., 77 of East Winthrop, Maine, passed away October 24, 2010 at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Woonsocket, RI, son of Emile and Anna (Marks) Cotnoir.
Russell married Sylvia Edna Ricard of Woonsocket, RI on September 3, 1955 and they recently celebrated their 55th anniversary. They moved to Kents Hill, ME in 1968 and settled in East Winthrop in 2003.
Kevin R. McCormick
HARRISVILLE Kevin R. McCormick, 35, of Maple Dr., died Oct. 24, 2010 at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born July 26, 1975 in Woonsocket, a son of James H. Mac and Lorraine (Lapierre) McCormick, III of Harrisville.
Kevin worked as a kitchen aide for the Homestead Group in Woonsocket, Wendys Restaurant in Lincoln and the North Smithfield Middle School.
Evelyn Whalen Downing
MACHIAS PORT ME- Evelyn Whalen (Kirschbaum) Downing died September 17, 2010 in Lubec. Evelyn was the daughter of Rev. William Guest Kirschbaum and Jeanne Edme (Poitevin) Kirschbaum.
Born June 19, 1924 in Eastport where her father was pastor at Central Congregational Church.
She traveled where her father's calling took the family, including sojourns on islands served at that time by the Maine Seacoast Mission, notably Muscongus and Matinicus.
Daniel R. Whalen
PRUDENCE ISLAND- Daniel R. Whalen, of Prudence Island and Harborview in Newport, passed away after an illness. His wife, Anke, passed away in 1995.
Dan was born in Millville, MA, the son of the late Philip F. and Catherine (Flynn) Whalen. He attended Mt. St. Charles Academy, the College of the Holy Cross and the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was a Navy veteran of World War II in the South Pacific theatre. Dan and four of his brothers served their country during the war. Although three of them were wounded, they all returned safely.
William F. Collins Jr.
SWANSEA- William F. Collins Jr., 76, of Swansea, formerly of Milford, died Thursday, October 21, 2010 in his home. He was the husband of Dorinda (Rodrigues) Collins. He was the husband of the late Loretta (Tusino) Collins who died in 1993.
He was born in Woonsocket RI, son of the late William and Helen (Trudeau) Collins Sr., living in Milford before moving to Swansea in 1992.
Robert L. Clausen
NO. SMITHFIELD- Robert L. Clausen, 92, resident of No. Smithfield, passed away Oct. 23, 2010 at Fatima Hospital in No. Providence.
Loving husband of Pauline (Sweeney) Clausen.
Born in South Bend IN, raised in Laconia NH, a son of the late Frederick & Ragna (Jensen) Clausen.
WOONSOCKET- Jeannette M. Martineau, 90, of Rhodes Ave., Woonsocket, died Saturday at The Friendly Home. She was the wife of the late Gerard Martineau.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Melina (Dufresne) Froment. She was raised in Woonsocket and resided in Blackstone for several years after her marriage in 1942. She later resided on Wake Robin Rd., in Lincoln for many years.
Mrs. Martineau was employed by the Medoff Company in Woonsocket and Ames Department Stores in Bellingham until retiring in 1982.
John P, Comastra, Jr.
WOONSOCKET- John P, Comastra, Jr., 73, of Pond St., died Thursday, October 21, 2010 in Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of Norma (Bruni) Comastra, whom he married May 10, 1958.
Born in Milford, MA, he was the son of the late John P. Comastra, Sr. and Leona (Lamontagne) Comastra.
Mr. Comastra was a truck driver for several area businesses and retired with the Wonder Bread Co. in 1999. He was a Marine Veteran of the Korean War and member of the Teamsters Union and the VFW, Woonsocket.
