Edward L. Gauthier
CUMBERLAND- Edward L. Gauthier, passed away Sunday. He was the loving husband of Vivian (St. Germain) Gauthier, they would have been married for 55 years this month.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Edward and Amy (Galipeau) Gauthier. Mr. Gauthier resided in Cumberland for the past 48 years.
He was employed by General Motors as a fork lift operator for 34 years, retiring in 1988.
He was a World War II US Navy Veteran, achieving various medals and awards.
He was a member of the VFW Post 11519, St. Joseph's Hall.
Florence A. Smith
NORTH SMITHFIELD- Florence A. (St.Pierre) Smith, 86, resident of North Smithfield, died unexpectedly May 19, 2011 at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket.
Loving wife to the late Robert F. Smith.
Born in Slatersville, daughter of the late Adelard & Marie Anne (Morais) St. Pierre.
She was a longtime employee for the Heller Knitting and Hanora Mills in Woonsocket. During the 1940's and 1950's she worked at the Park Theatre, the Woonsocket Opera House at Monument Square.
Edward J. Baldyga
UXBRIDGE- Edward J. Baldyga, 83, of Uxbridge, MA died Sunday, May 22, 2011 at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Julia (Farrell) Baldyga who passed away in 2008.
He was born in Blackstone, MA, the son of John and Mary (Jaworski) Baldyga.
Mr. Baldyga is a World War II Navy Veteran and served on the USS A.M. Sumner. He was a tool maker most of his career and worked for Imperial Knife. He was a member of the St. Paul's Men's Club and also the PACC in Blackstone, MA.
David P. Ethier
CAMBRIDGE / MILLVILLE- David P. Ethier, 47, of Cambridge and formerly of Millville, passed away Mon. Feb. 14, 2011 in Boston after a short illness.
Survived by his mother Margaret A. (Smith) Ethier, his 3 brothers Robert R. Ethier, James E. Ethier, and John P. Ethier; his sister Jean F. Rogerson, and several nieces and nephews.
Muriel L. Tessier
MANVILLE- Muriel L. Tessier, 82, formerly of Oak St., Manville, died Saturday evening at St. Antoine Residence in North Smithfield. She was the wife of the late George Tessier.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Sylvia (Tessier) Goyette. She was raised in Woonsocket and resided in Manville for over 45 years. She also lived at Riverview Apartments in Cumberland for several years before moving to St. Antoine Residence.
Mrs. Tessier was employed at AT Cross in Lincoln for many years and previously worked at Cadillac Textiles and Univis Frames.
NORTH SMITHFIELD- Sophie M. (Cybulski) Marchwicki, 88, of Oak Hill Ave., died Friday, May 20, 2011 in The Friendly Home, Woonsocket. She was the wife of Edward J. Marchwicki whom she married May 23, 1948.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Marian and Mary (Rudick) Cybulski.
Mrs. Marchwicki was a homemaker, but before her marriage, she was employed by the Nationwide Roofing Co. She was a member of the St. Stanislaus Ladies Guild.
Juliette Terry T. Hebert
BURRILLVILLE- Juliette Terry T. Hebert, 79, resident of Mapleville, passed away May 22, 2011, at Overlook Nursing Home in Pascoag, surrounded by her loving family.
Loving wife to the late Theodore Hebert Sr.
Born in Mapleville, a daughter of the late Joseph & Olida (Bourgois) Desjarlais.
She worked for Zambarano Hospital and the former Andrews Worsted Mill Co. Terry was a lifelong Mapleville resident, she was a member of Oakland-Mapleville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and was a communicant of Our Lady of Good Help Church.
Rosamond O. Staples
BELLINGHAM- Rosamond O. (Burr) Staples, 88, of Bellingham, passed away Friday, May 20, 2011 at Milford Regional Medical Center, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife for 61 years of Halsey A. Staples.
Born in Bellingham, MA on June 3, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Harold C. and Olive M. (Briggs) Burr.
Judge Edward V. Healey, Jr.
CRANSTON- The Honorable Edward V. Healey, Jr., 88, of Cranston, Retired Senior Associate Justice of the Rhode Island Family Court died Saturday, May 21 at the Scandinavian Home, Cranston.
Judge Healey was born in Providence, the first child of the late Edward V. Sr. and Margaret (McGrath) Healey. He was the husband of the late Lillian Dolly E. (Devlin) to whom he was married for thirty-seven years until her death in 1987.
Omer J. Dubois
BLACKSTONE- Omer J. Dubois, 85, of Federal St., Blackstone, MA, died May 16, 2011 at Milford Hospital, 7:54 am.
Born Nov. 3, 1925 in Woonsocket.
He was the beloved husband of Lillian (Morin) Dubois of Blackstone MA. He was the son of the late Regis and Alice (Robitaille) Dubois of Blackstone. Brother of the late Arthur, Aldor, Adrian "Pete" Dubois and Anita Allard.
