LINCOLN - Eleuterio G. Alikpala MD, 85, died Tuesday afternoon at home. He was the husband of Basilia Ramirez MD.
Born November 22, 1926, in Pola, Mindoro Philippines, a son of Eleuterio Alikpala Sr. and Catalina Gaba Alikpala.
He is also survived by three daughters, C. Marissa Alikpala, Laura Wilson, Leah Russell; three sons, Jason Alikpala, Eric Alikpala and Andrew Alikpala; 3 brothers, Eduardo Alikpala, Ernesto Alikpala and Exequiel Alikpala of the Philippines; and 8 grandchildren.
WHITINSVILLE - Therese D. Fregeau, 87, formerly of Clinton St., Woonsocket, died Friday December 30, 2011 at St. Camillus Health Center in Whitinsville. She was the wife of the late Charles R. Fregeau.
Born and raised in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alida (Godbout) Roy.
She was employed at AT Cross in Lincoln until her retirement in 1987.
Therese was a member of the St. Ann's Choir and also a member of the Kennedy Manor Club. She enjoyed wearing jewelry, listening to many different varieties of music, and making sweaters for her grandchildren.
WOONSOCKET - Lucien E. Dube, 90, formerly of Monty Ave., died Tuesday at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. He was the husband of the late Theresa (Roy) Dube.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Louis and Graziella (Chevalier) Dube. He served in the US Army during WWII. Lucien worked for Mine Safety Appliance Co. for twenty nine years before his retirement. He was a member of the St. Joseph Veteran's Club, and the YMCA Senior Fitness Club.
WOONSOCKET - Louise A. Laprade, 65, of Diamond Hill Rd, died peacefully Wednesday December 28, 2011, at home with her family by her side. She was the wife of Robert M. Laprade. Robert and Louise, were married on September 30, 1967 in Precious Blood Church, they celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on September 30, 2011.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter, of the late Roger and Stephanie (Sally) (Zadroga) Houle.
Prior to retiring Louise worked as an activities director at the former Evergreen Nursing Home, on Greene St. in Woonsocket.
WOONSOCKET - Michael "Mike" W. Demrest, 42, passed away suddenly on January 1, 2012 at his home.
He was born in Milford, MA on April 10, 1969. He was the son the late William Demrest Sr. and the late Joyce Lussier. He was a Woonsocket resident most of his life.
NORTH SMITHFIELD - William Joseph Figuerido Sr., 81, of North Smithfield, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2012, at the Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket.
He was born May 7, 1930 in Millville, MA, son of the late William and Frances (Sacco) Figuerido.
BLACKSTONE - Paul F. Moran Sr. 80, resident of Blackstone MA, died surrounded by his loving family on December 30, 2011 in Upton MA. He was the husband of nineteen years to the late Anita (Carusso) Moran and 14 years to the late Doris (Doura) Moran.
He was born on June 15, 1931 in Waltham MA, a son to the late John F. Sr. & Margaret (Martin) Moran.
Paul was a machinist who worked at many machine shops throughout his life.
He managed Volpe Tool & Die in Milford, for 20 years and then retired. He volunteered his time to the Blackstone Valley Senior Center.
