Clara B. Nelson
WOONSOCKET- Clara B. Nelson, 91, of Woonsocket, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013 in Oakland Grove Health Care Center. Clara was born in Birmingham, Alabama, the daughter of Carter and Rebecca M. Davis on December 3, 1921.
Her family moved to Boston, MA when she was young. She attended Roxbury Memorial High School. She was a dietary aide at the Wentworth Institute until her retirement. She enjoyed walking, special outings, board games, knitting and spending time with her daughter. She enjoyed children and was a kind and gentle soul.
Sara J. Fernandes
SOUTH CAROLINA- Sara J. (Conley) Fernandes, 29, of State Park Rd. died unexpectedly on Saturday April 6, 2013. She was the wife of the late Alan Fernandes.
Born in Cambridge MA., daughter of Mary Rose Clark, of Woonsocket, and Robert Clark.
Sara worked as a waitress for several years at The Castle prior to moving to South Carolina.
She enjoyed cooking for family and friends, a kind hearted person, who cared about her family and friends. A free spirit always enjoyed life to the fullest.
Lillian B. Champagne
CUMBERLAND- Lillian B. Champagne, 79, of Spring Street, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Roland J. Champagne.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Elzear and Julie (Mercier) Lambert. She resided in Cumberland for the past 51 years.
WOONSOCKET- George Karam, 82, of Harris Ave., died Saturday April 6, 2013 in the Oakland Grove Health Center. He was the husband of the late Ann (Mathieu) Karam.
Born in Utica, New York, son of the late Michael and Nazero (Habak).
Mr. Karam worked as a machinist for Dennison Little in Framingham, for several years prior to retiring.
He was a United States Navy Veteran serving proudly on the USS Bronson during the Korean Conflict.
He was a former member of the Enrico Caruso Club.
Mariette Le Breton
ORLANDO, FLORIDA- Mariette Le Breton, 91. of Orlando, Florida, died on April 5, 2013. She was the wife of the late Ovide Durand and Peter Le Breton.
Born is St Gregoire de Montmorency, Quebec, Canada on 4/23/1921, she was the daughter of Pierre Lacroix and Laura Deschenes. She came to this country as a child in 1923.
Mrs. Le Breton was employed by Lockheed Martin for over 30 years before retiring in 1985.
She was a longtime communicant of Good Sheperd Church in Orlando
Mariette will be remembered for her charitable giving to her church, family and friends.
Charles H. Bourgeois
WOONSOCKET- Charles H. Bourgeois, 89, of 300 Privilege Street, died Monday, April 8, 2013 in Landmark Medical Center.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late William and Rose (Labossiere) Bourgeois.
Charles worked in several area mills, most recently at Jacob Finklesteins for 33 years.
KEITHVILLE, LA- MARTIN, MICHAEL FRANCIS, 56, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in Keithville, Louisiana.
Son of the late Joyce Martin and late Francis Martin,
Michael grew up in North Smithfield, RI, and raised his family in Woonsocket, RI.
He is survived by his two sons, Brian Martin of Attleboro, MA and Kevin Martin of Woonsocket, RI, and his brother James Martin of Burrillville, RI.
Michael spent his career as an independent contractor, and enjoyed fishing, baseball, and hockey in his free time.
PALM BAY, FLORIDA- Steven Cherwinski formerly of 3 Sorel Ave. North Smithfield, passed away on March 6 in Palm Bay, Florida.
Born on March 12, 1932, he was the son of the late William and Catherine Cherwinski. Steven was born in Woonsocket and spent most of his life in North Smithfield.
CUMBERLAND- Stephen M. Petrosky Jr. , 93, formerly of Diamond Hill Road, passed away Thursday at Woonsocket Health and Rehabilitation Center, Woonsocket. He was married to the love of his life, the late Stella Zoubra on October 31, 1964 with whom he traveled the world and this country, which they enjoyed tremendously until her passing in 1995.
Born June 4, 1919 in Woonsocket, he was the fourth child and first son of Stephan and Efrosina Petrosky.
Stephen was a 1937 Franklin High School graduate where he received a medal for his essay on American History.
Violet A. Boucher
JOHNSTON- Violet A. (Caron) Boucher 97, formerly of Waterview Apts, Woonsocket, died Saturday in Briarcliff Manor, Johnston. S
he was born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Philias and Fabiola (Drapeau) Caron. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and enjoyed sewing, cooking, and dancing.
