BURRILLVILLE- William P. Marcoux, 79 formerly of Bellingham, Ma. died Wednesday September 18, 2013 in Zamborano Hospital. He was the husband of the late Elaine (Hudon) Marcoux.
Born in Woonsocket, son of the late Lorenzo and Pauline (Arcand) Marcoux.
Mr. Marcoux worked at The Wrentham State School for 30 years, and also as a master pipe fitter, for Dennison Corp. for several years prior to retiring. He also served as Lt. on the Bellingham Rescue for several years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family especially the grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
John R. Robinson
BLACKSTONE- John R. Robinson, Sr., 85, of Chestnut St., died September 16, 2013 in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of the late Helen (McMann) Robinson and companion of the late Lenora "Lolly" Pierannunzi for thirty-nine years.
Born in Blackstone, MA, he was the son of the late Roland and Anna (Bradley) Robinson.
A WWII Army Veteran, Mr. Robinson worked as a Truck Driver for Rosenfeld Concrete, Milford, MA for twenty-eight years. He was a member of the Woonsocket Elks and was an antique car enthusiast.
Paul A. Young
WOONSOCKET- A. Paul "Moose" Young, 64, of Mason Street, died on September 16th in Home and Hospice Care of RI, Providence.
Born in Hartland, ME, he was the son of the late Oscar and Edith (Lyons) Young.
Paul was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked at many diverse jobs, including as an orderly in area hospitals.
He is survived by his fiancĂ©e, Karen Clark with whom he lived, his son, Christopher W. Young, and two sisters, Shirley Connor of Brockton, MA and Nancy Barnes of Woonsocket.
Rose A. Cournoyer
MANVILLE- Rose A. Cournoyer, 96, formerly of Winter St. Manville, died Monday September 9, 2013 at the Holiday in Manville. She was the wife of the late Ronald E. Cournoyer who died in 1987.
Born in Manville, she was a daughter of the late Hormisdas and Aline (Pelletier) Desrosiers. She was a lifelong resident of Manville.
George R. St. Sauveur
WOONSOCKET- George R. "Lefty" St. Sauveur, 88, of Woonsocket died Monday at Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Leonie (Beaulieu) St. Sauveur.
Born in Putnam, Connecticut he was a son of the late Romeo and Leona (Francis) St. Sauveur. He came to Woonsocket as a young child and remained a lifelong resident of the city.
In his early years Lefty was employed in the local textile industry and at the U.S. Rubber shop. He worked for the Woonsocket Highway Department for over 25 years before retiring in 1987.
BURRILLVILLE- William, "Bill" S. Glatki, 93, a resident of the Overlook Nursing Home in Pascoag passed away on Monday at Miriam Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Frances (Kubaska) Glatki.
Born, August 1, 1920 in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Stephen & Grace (Shevlin) Glatki.
James Stephen Kane
ROCKVILLE, MD- James Stephen (Jim) Kane, age 91, passed away on Monday morning, September 9, 2013 at Brightview Fallsgrove Assisted Living in Rockville, MD following a long illness.
He was a Gaithersburg resident, long-time Washingtonian and native son of Woonsocket, RI.
Thomas B. Carter
BURRILLVILLE- Thomas B. Carter, of Glendale, died September 12, 2013 at the age of 63.
Born in Whitinsville, he was the son of Helen L. Carter of No. Smithfield and the late Fred W. Carter and was the brother of Frank and Ronald Carter, Helen Lavalle, Ruth Goudreau, Lydia Lapierre and the late Fredrick Carter who died serving in the Vietnam War.
Tom proudly served his country in the United States Navy and retired from the Teamsters Union in 2007. Tom was an active member of the Morning Star Masonic Lodge for Free Masons.
WOONSOCKET- Richard W. L'Esperance, 74, of Bourassa Avenue, Woonsocket, died on September 15, 2013 in The Friendly Home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Madeleine (Carolo) L'Esperance, to whom he was married for thirty years. He enjoyed their winter residence in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Born in Woonsocket and a lifelong resident, Richard was a son of the late Wilfred and Jeannette (Cadoret) L'Esperance.
Dian L. Samson
GLOCESTER- Samson, Dian L., 51, of Jackson School House Road, died Friday, September 13, 2013 at RI Hospital after a long illness.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Samson, her daughter, Sandra, two grandchildren, all of Chepachet, her father, James Baker and her siblings Jane Burgess, Beth Travis, Mary Lou Hillery, Nancy and Mark Baker. She was the daughter of the late Dorothy (Burke) Baker.
