R. Roger Larocque
NORTH SMITHFIELD- R. Roger "Rocky" Larocque 88, formerly of Manville Rd. died Sunday at St. Antoine Residence. He was the husband of the late Therese (Sarrazin) Larocque.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Nazaire and Bertha (Dalpe) Larocque.
Roger was an auto body repair man for the former Toupin Auto for over twenty years and later for Cote Auto Body retiring in 1989. He was an avid baseball and hockey fan. Roger was a coach and pitcher and one of the founding members of "Field of Dreams Softball League".
Ronald E. Bernier
WOONSOCKET- Ronald E. "Ronnie" Bernier, 62, of Woonsocket, died Saturday evening at Landmark Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Lorraine S. (Belliveau) Bernier. They were married on October 3, 1992.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Henri and Bertha (Paget) Bernier. He remained a lifelong resident of the city.
Mr. Bernier was a veteran of the Untied States Marine Corps serving in Vietnam.
Mary E. Dean
MILLVILLE, MA - Mary E. "Betty" Dean, 78, of Millville, passed away Fri. Jan. 11, 2013 in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket, RI with her family by her side. She was the devoted wife for 52 years to the late John F. Dean who died in 2011.
Mrs. Dean was born in Worcester in 1934, the daughter of the late Loreto and Mary (Dowling) DeFilippo and was a graduate of the former St. Mary's High School in Milford and Becker College.
NORTH SMITHFIELD- Jeannette T. Westergren 65, resident of North Smithfield died January 11, 2013 at Pawtucket Memorial Hospital.
She was the loving wife of John Westergren of North Smithfield.
She was born in Woonsocket RI, a daughter of Theresa (Lewberg) Lapierre of Woonsocket and the late Robert Lapierre.
Joan F. Jalette
CUMBERLAND- Joan F. Jalette, 63, of Stillwater Dr. entered into eternal rest on Friday surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Maurice "Moe" Jalette.
Born in Woonsocket she was the daughter of the late Edward and Bridget (Susla) Rec. She had resided in Cumberland for the past 22 years.
Joan was a teacher at the East Woonsocket School where she taught 4th grade for 28 years retiring in 1991. She was a member of the Woonsocket Teachers Guild and was also an avid walker.
WOONSOCKET- Florence (Husson) David, 84 of Star Avenue, passed away Friday in the Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. David.
Born in Aita-El-Foukhar, Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late Metri and Nayfe (Skaff) Husson. She moved to this country in 1948, settling in Woonsocket.
Mrs. David was a homemaker devoting her life to her family and friends. Her unconditional love, friendship and kindness will be truly missed by all.
BELLINGHAM- Gabrielle J. (Croteau) Armstrong, 87, of Bellingham, MA passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013 at the Milford Regional Medical Center.
Born in Bellingham on June 6, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Romeo N. and Marie Stella (Bernard) Croteau.
GLOCESTER- Rolland D. "Lefty" Carpentier, 88 , Glocester, RI, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday morning, January 9, 2012. He was predeceased by his wife Alice L. (Couture) Carpentier.
Born in Woonsocket on March 29, 1924, he was the son of the late Donat and Irene (Guerin) Carpentier. He was a Woonsocket resident most of his life before moving to Glocester.
WOONSOCKET- Antonio Montefusco, 82, of Logee St. died peacefully, Thursday January 10, 2013 With his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Maria L. (Salvatore) Montefusco. Antonio and Maria celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary September 26, 2012.
Born in Luciano, Italy, son of the late Vincenzo and Carmela (Claudio) Montefusco.
He worked as a Class II fireman in the boiler room at Wrentham State School for 24 years prior to retiring.
Rita Simone Houle
WOONSOCKET- Rita Simone Houle, 76 of Woonsocket passed away on January 9, 2013 in the Trinity Health and Rehabilitation Center in Woonsocket.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Mary-Jane (Raymond) Maurice.
Rita was a life long city resident and worked as a seamstress/stitcher for 31 years for Finklestein, Rayco Co. and finally with Needlecraft. She was a member of St. Josephs Veterans Association and the Club Lafayette Association. Rita was an avid Bingo and card player.
