Flora T. Degnan
NORTH SMITHFIELD - Flora T. (Bastien) Degnan, 86, of North Smithfield, died December 27, 2012 in Mesa, AZ. She was the wife of the late John F. Brady and the late John F. Degnan. Born in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Eudor and Noella (Picard) Bastien.
Mrs. Degnan was a secretary for Amperex Electronics in North Smithfield, retiring in 1987. She was also co owner of Park Square Diner and secretary at Lippitt Mill.
Gertrude F. Lambert
WOONSOCKET - Gertrude F. (McCullough) Lambert 76, of Diamond Hill Rd., died Friday, January 4, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Joseph "Ray" Lambert.
Sylvia M. Kappelle
NORTH SMITHFIELD - Sylvia M. (Benjamin) Kappelle, 72, of No. Smithfield, died Saturday, January 5, 2013 in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Armand E. Kappelle, Sr., whom she married July 11, 1959. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Edourard and Alice (Dubois) Benjamin.
Mrs. Kappelle was a cashier for the former Mark Stevens Outlet Store. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Luke C.S. Brunelle
BELLINGHAM, MA - Luke C.S. Brunelle, 23, of Bellingham, MA passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2013.
Born in Woonsocket, RI on July 5, 1989, he was the beloved son of Mark H. and Michelle A. (Beauregard) Brunelle, and the cherished brother of Nicole Y. and Mariah L. Brunelle, all of Bellingham, MA; and the grandson of Charles and Rochelle (Lambert) Beauregard of Smithfield, RI and Linda (Cameron) Brunelle of Woonsocket, RI. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Madeleine L. Martineau
Madeleine L. (Menard) Martineau, 67, of Victory Highway, died January 3, 2013 in Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. She was the wife of Bruce W. Martineau whom she married July 10, 1965. Born in Blackstone, MA, she was the daughter of Rita (Plasse) Menard of Blackstone, MA, and the late Charles Menard.
She worked at the YWCA in Woonsocket and was a Homemaker. She loved her family and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her visits to the Glocester Senior Center and relaxing in the summer with family and friends around the pool.
Lucy A. Sheehan
WRENTHAM - Lucy A. (DeBaggis) Sheehan 94, of Wrentham, and a former Franklin & Woonsocket resident died peacefully, Friday January 4, 2013 at the Maples Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Wrentham, following an illness. She was the wife of the late William A. Sheehan who died in 1964.
Born in Franklin, January 8, 1918 a daughter of the late Diego N. and Josephine (Colobouno) DeBaggis, she was raised and educated in Franklin, where she was the Class Valedictorian of Franklin High School Class of 1936.
Florence M. Brissette
WOONSOCKET - Florence M. Brissette, 81, of Manville, died Friday at Landmark Medical Center. She was the loving wife of Ernest A. Brissette. They were married on Oct. 1, 1949.
Born and raised in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Lucien F. and Dora (Lacourse) Hogue.
Flo resided in and raised her family in Woonsocket. Flo and Ernest relocated to Tampa, Florida in 1977 and lived there for over 30 years.
Flo was employed at U.S. Rubber in Woonsocket and while living in Florida worked for Black & Decker.
Therese Y. Riley
WOONSOCKET- Therese Y. (Gagne) Riley, 83, a lifelong resident of Woonsocket, died Friday, January 4, 2013 in the St. Antoine Residence. She was the wife of the late Frank V. Riley, who died in 1989.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Emile J. and Alberta I. (Mousseau) Gagne.
Susan K. Wahl
CUMBERLAND- Susan K. (Donahue) Wahl, 60, of Cumberland, died January 1, 2013 in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket, Rhode Island. She was the wife of David R. Wahl whom she married May 19, 1973.
Born in Woonsocket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Edward W. and Lillian M. (Barker) Donahue.
Susan was a selfless woman and devoted "Grammy." She enjoyed Sudoku puzzles and decorating.
Joseph Edgar LaPlante
WOONSOCKET- Joseph Edgar LaPlante 89, of Ward St. died Sunday December 30th. He was the husband of the late Rita M. Charrette.
Born in Woonsocket he was the son of the late Eugene and Eva (St. Jean) LaPlante.
Mr. LaPlante was an aeronautical engineer at Quonset Point Naval Station for twenty six years retiring thirty nine years ago. He served in the US Marine Corps during WWII. He coached Bernon Little League Baseball's Farm League and Woonsocket Youth Hockey for many years. He was a member of the National Organization of Retired Federal Employees.
