MILLVILLE- John J. Mullaly, 66, of Central St. died Tues. Jan. 14 at UMass Memorial Hospital.
William H. Spirka
LEHIGH ACRES, FLORIDA- William H. Spirka, age 87, of Lehigh Acres, Florida, passed away on Sunday, Jan 12, 2014.
William was born Oct 15, 1926 in Pascoag, RI the son of the Late Joseph & Mary Spirka.
He enlisted in the US Navy in 1944 and served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. After serving in the Navy for 22 years he retired from there in 1966.
David R. Sherman
BELLINGHAM- David R. Sherman, 67, formerly of Bellingham, MA, died December 31, 2013 at The Tidewell Hospice Home in Port Charlotte, Florida. He was the beloved husband of Carolyn (Conte) Sherman.
Born in Needham, son of the late Frank and Alice (Bouchard) Sherman, Mr.
Sherman worked for G.E. Medical Systems for over 25 years. He was an avid gardener and had a passion for golf. He most loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Thomas E. Hanley
WOONSOCKET- Thomas E, Hanley, 87, formerly of Woonsocket, RI and Pocasset, MA, died Monday January 13, 2014. He was predeceased by his spouse of fifty-nine years, Claire (Benoit) Hanley. He was born in Albany, NY, and was the son of the late Earl and Lillian (Lapierre) Hanley. He was the brother of the late Norman Hanley.
Andre J. Remillard
NORTH SMITHFIELD- Andre J. Remillard 89, formerly of Lantern Apts. in North Smithfield, died Tuesday at Berkshire Place in Providence. He was the husband of Rita (Bergeron) Remillard.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Anaclet and Aldora (Dubois) Remillard. Andre was a WWII Army Corporal serving with the 489th Antiaircraft Battalion.
Beatrice E. Picard
NO. SMITHFIELD- Beatrice E. (Trudeau) Picard, 94, of No. Smithfield, formerly of Woonsocket, died Sunday, January 12, 2014 in St. Antoine Residence.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Florence (Bernier) Trudeau.
Beatrice was a 1936 graduate of Woonsocket High School. She was a secretary from Citizens Memorial Elementary School until her retirement in 1981. Beatrice was a communicant of Precious Blood Church. She enjoyed making cherry confetti cake, fudge and surprise squares.
Edward R. Viens, Sr.
WOONSOCKET- Edward R. Viens, Sr. 77 passed away on January 7, 2014, in the Oakland Grove Health and Rehabilitation Center, following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of 55 years to Beatrice E. (Denault) Viens.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Edward and Eleanor (Blais) Viens.
WOONSOCKET- Rica Nanni, 92, formerly of Woonsocket, died on December 18, 2013 in Connecticut.
Rica was born in Montereale, Italy. She was the daughter of Frank and Dosalina Nanni, also of Woonsocket.
Rica was predeceased by her sisters, Olga Trocchi and Flora Mirabelli, both of Connecticut and her brother, Fred Nanni, of California. She is survived by her nieces, Patricia Trocchi, Linda Trocchi Heath, Janice Mirabelli, and a nephew, Dr. Mark Douglas Nanni. She is also survived by several grandnieces and grandnephews.
Amy Ellen Bliss
NORTH SMITHFIELD- Bliss, Amy Ellen, 48, of North Smithield, passed away January 4, 2014 at Rhode Island Hospital.
Born in Woonsocket, the daughter of Charles and Nancy (Doyle) Bliss of North Smithfield.
She was the sister of Charles Bliss and his wife Maria of Greensboro, NC and David Bliss of Cumberland. She also leaves 3 nieces; Mikayla, Emily and Kaitlyn Bliss and a nephew Addison Bliss.
