BURRILLVILLE- Myron Fontes, 87, resident of Pascoag, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014 in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of Doris A. (Desilets) Fontes, whom he married Jul. 18, 1953.
Born in East Providence, he was the son of the late Marion C. and Rita (Paquette) Fontes.
Myron worked as an Engineer for 24 years before retiring from Amprex of North Smithfield. He attended North Eastern University and URI. He was a WWII Army Air Corps Veteran.
Elizabeth M. Pearson
LINCOLN- Elizabeth M. (Rossini) Pearson, 88, formerly of Pinecrest Drive, Woonsocket, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014 in the Holiday Retirement Home, with her family by her side.
She was the wife of the late Wilfred Pearson.
Born in Providence, daughter of the late Luigi and Santina (Michelotti) Rossini. Elizabeth moved to Woonsocket in 1964.
Lamar L. Haffner
NORTH SMITHFIELD- HAFFNER LAMAR L. 84, of North Smithfield, Rhode Island (formerly of Mohegan, Rhode Island) passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2014 peacefully at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Born September 4, 1929 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, he was the son of the late Glenn and Bernice (Frueh) Haffner. He was the twin brother of LaVern Haffner of Fort Madison, Iowa.
Henry J. Roy Sr.
APPLE VALLEY, CA- Henry J. Roy 91, resident of Apple Valley, CA for the last 20+ years previously of Yucca Valley, CA, Woonsocket RI, Bellingham, MA & Kingston, MA passed away on January 1, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at the Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, CA.
He was born on July 6, 1922 in Bromptonville (now known as Sherbrook) Quebec, Canada. The son of the late Urban and Marie Louise (Duchesnau) Roy of Kingston, RI. He worked as a Carpenter until he retired at the age of 71.
Daniel J. Andrews, Jr.
NORTH SMITHFIELD- Daniel J. Andrews, Jr., 50, of Forestdale, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014 after a brief illness. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on December 18, 2013.
Born in Woonsocket, Dan was the son of former North Smithfield Town Administrator Daniel J. Andrews and his wife Janice of Jackson, NH and Sarah E. Stubbs and her husband Donald of Woonsocket.
Harry E. Reed
BLACKSTONE- Harry E. Reed, 47, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2014 at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston with loving family by his side.
Born in Woonsocket, RI on August 27, 1966, he was the beloved son of Lucille (St. Laurent) Reed of Blackstone, MA and the late William E. Reed.
Yvonne M. Pepin
UXBRIDGE- Yvonne M. (Gonthier) Pepin, 91, of Quaker Highway, Uxbridge, formerly a 50 year resident of 47 Main St., Blackstone, died January 2, 2014 in Beaumont Rehab and Nursing Center, Northbridge, MA. She was the wife of the late Onesiphore Pepin. Born in Somersworth, NH, she was the daughter of the late Archille and Amanda (Fortier) Gonthier.
Mrs. Pepin was a homemaker, but had previously worked for several area factories and Gaskill Nursing Home. She enjoyed crosswords, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards and spending time with friends and family.
Christine F. Mulneix
NORTH KINGSTOWN- Christine F. (Berard) Mulneix, 60, of North Kingstown, RI, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014. She was the beloved wife of Bruce W. Mulneix.
Born in Woonsocket, RI on December 23, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Albert F. and Renee F. (Keegan) Berard, Sr.
Roger W. Cartier
NORTH PROVIDENCE- Roger W. Cartier 65, of Smith St. died Saturday at home.
He was the son of the late Dosithe and Angelina (Laramee) Cartier.
oger was a product manager for Mini Systems for twenty three years before retiring in 1997. He graduated from Roger Williams University with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Roger served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by an aunt, Jeannette Lebeau of Cumberland and several cousins.
BELLINGHAM- Lorraine A. Blanchard 67, of Garden St. died Sunday at the Philip Hulitar Center. She was the wife of Lucien "Bucky" Blanchard.
Born in Woonsocket, she is the daughter of Alma (Cartier) Boisseau and the late David Boisseau.
Lorraine worked for the transportation department of Seven Hills, she was the van driver for nineteen years before retiring in 2012 due to illness. She was a member of the Bellingham Senior Center. Lorraine was a very humble and generous person.
