Valerie K. Garlacy
WOONSOCKET- Valerie K. (Luszcz) Garlacy, 85, of Woonsocket, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, at Rhode Island Hospital with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of Theodore A. Garlacy.
Born July 31, 1928 in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Sebastien and Waleria (Surowiec) Luszcz, she resided in Woonsocket all her life.
Evelyn J. Durand
WOONSOCKET- Evelyn J. (Andre) Durand, 93, died Friday in the Oakland Grove Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Maurice Durand.
Mrs. Durand was born in Woonsocket, the daughter of the late Leon and Sylvie (Bens) Andre.
She was a dedicated homemaker and devoted mother and is survived by her daughter Sylvia Noonan of Florence, MA, three grandchildren; Charleen Howarth, Allison Smith, and Brian Walsh, and eight great grandchildren.
Matthew P. Hamlet
BELLINGHAM- Matthew P. Hamlet, 58, of Bellingham, passed away Monday, February 24, 2014 at the Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket.
Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Lillian (Maguire) and William Hamlet.
He was the husband of the late Maureen (Jordan) Hamlet who passed in 2005.
Matthew was a very generous and humble man and enjoyed antiquing.
Doris I. Rabideau
WOONSOCKET- Doris I. (Lemieux) Rabideau, 95, died Tuesday, February 25, 2014 in The Holiday Retirement Home, Manville, RI, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Raymond J. Rabideau whom she married on September 1, 1941.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Adrian B. and Clara (Bourget) Lemieux.
In addition to working at the Cumberland Worsted Textile Mill, Mrs. Rabideau worked at McCarthy's Department store, and retired after many years of service with Tupperware.
PUTNAM, CT- Nicole Jeannette Elisabeth Bonoyer, 32, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Feb. 24, 2014 in Kent County Hospital, Warwick.
She was a resident of Putnam, formerly of Burrillville.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late James L. Bonoyer and Mary A. Costa of Putnam, CT.
Nicole was a talented craftsperson, making lifelike Dolls, and painting. She attended CCRI. She loved her family and most of all her two children.
Camille J. Leclaire
WOONSOCKET- Camille J. Leclaire, 98, died Sunday at Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Violet (Lecroix) Leclaire.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Wilfred and Alida Leclaire.
Mr. Leclaire was a WWII Army Veteran. He worked as a clerk for the US Postal Service for over thirty years.
He is survived by two sons, Raymond R. Leclaire of N. Smithfield, and Robert L Leclaire of Burrillville, two daughters Pauline Ehmer of Rio Rancho, New Mexico and Doris Duguay, eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
WOONSOCKET- Alicja (Sulkowski) Haczynski, 72, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 24, 2014. She was the loving wife of Zbiginiew Haczynski.
Funeral, Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. from the Kubaska Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish, Woonsocket. Burial at St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Blackstone, MA. Calling hours Friday, February 28, 2014 from 4-8 pm. For full obituary go to:
Nelson L. Labonte
BRISTOL- Nelson L. Labonte, 93, formerly of Woonsocket, died, Tuesday, February 25, 2014, in the R.I. Veterans Home. He was the husband of the late Therese (Valois) Labonte.
Born in Woonsocket, son of the late Joseph and Victoria (Bouchard) Labonte.
Mr. Labonte was a United States Army Veteran serving in WWII.
He worked as a Machinist for Taft Pierce, for 27 years prior to retiring.
He is survived by one son, Joseph F. and his wife Mary Labonte of Woonsocket, and one daughter, Anne M, and her husband Keith Choquette, of North Smithfield, and five grandchildren.
Montcalm J. LaRochelle
CUMBERLAND- Montcalm J. "Larry" LaRochelle, 86, of Mendon Rd. Cumberland died Monday at Landmark Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Jeannette M. (Dumont) LaRochelle. They were married on November 24, 1949.
Born and raised in Manville he was a son of the late Adolphe and Edouardina (Gouin) LaRochelle.
Mr. LaRochelle was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. He received the Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal. He taught dancing for Arthur Murray studios while in Japan.
WOONSOCKET- Janice Pleau, 85, formerly of Chateau Clare in Woonsocket died on Feb. 19, 2014.
She was the wife of the late Louis Pleau.
She leaves 3 daughters, Cheryl DuBois of Ga., Loretta Badeau and Leslie Brite of Woonsocket and 1 son, the late Robert Pleau. She has 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great- great grandchild.
A private service will be held at the Veteran's Cemetery on Feb 27.
