MARY T. VEAZIE
BELLINGHAM, MA - Mary T. (Ruck) Veazie, 83, of Bellingham, MA passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2014 at the Blaire House in Milford, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Warren T. Veazie, Jr. Born in Boston, MA on January 19, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Grace (Ellsworth) Ruck. She was the loving mother of Warren P. Veazie of Bellingham, MA and leaves her cherished grandson Michael W. Veazie of Milford, MA. She was the sister of the late George and John Ruck, and Grace Denault. She leaves her nieces and nephews.
Louise B. Robillard
NORTH KINGSTOWN - Louise B. (Tavernier) Robillard, 95, died Sunday, December 7, 2014 in the Scalabrini Villa, No. Kingstown. She was the wife of the late Ernest C. Robillard. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Roseanna (Desnoyelle) Tavernier.
During the summer for the last 50 years, she lived at Matunuck Beach.
Patricia Pickens Ferland
JOHNSONVILLE, SC - Patricia "Pat" Pickens Ferland, 65, walked into Heaven's Gate on Sunday December 7, 2014.
She was born in Dyersburg, TN, a daughter of the late Thomas Auford and Ruth Keltner Pickens. She graduated from Halls High School and Secretarial School. After college she met the man she would spend the rest of her life with. Moe swept her off her feet and then swept her to Johnsonville, SC.
Joseph M. Almeida, Jr.
WOONSOCKET - Joseph M. Almeida, Jr., 76, of Woonsocket, died December 7, 2014 in the Friendly Home, Woonsocket. He was the husband of Jeanne A. (Coutu) Almeida whom he married September 9, 1961. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Joseph and Lillian (Gould) Almeida.
He worked as a compositor for the Woonsocket Call for 48 years, retiring in 2003. Joseph was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Leonel J. Dubois
NORTH KINGSTOWN - Dubois, Leonel J. "Lefty", 94, passed away peacefully, Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Roberts Health Centre. He was the loving husband of Jeannette T. (Gosselin) Dubois for sixty-eight years.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Octave and Emma (Mongeon) Dubois.
Carol A. Leduc
BURRILLVILLE - Carol A. (Switzer) Leduc, 58, of Harrisville, RI passed away December 7, 2014 at the Bayberry Commons Nursing Home in Pascoag.
She was the loving wife of 23 years to Raymond Leduc.
She was born in Woonsocket, RI daughter of the late Leo & Doris (Ethier) Switzer.
Carol worked for the Zambarano Hospital in Pascoag as a CNA for 16 years, and as a nurse for 10 more years. She received her nursing degree at CCRI. She loved sewing, knitting, camping and traveling with her special friends Kenny & Carol Lewin.
Vincent J. O'Rourke
NORTH SMITHFIELD - Vincent J. O'Rourke, 64, of North Smithfield, passed away December 6, 2014 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He was the husband of Donna L. (Lussier) O'Rourke whom he married July 24, 1982. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Frederick J. and Terry (Etoila Lambert) O'Rourke.
Dorothy J. Stothard
WOONSOCKET - Dorothy J. Stothard 78, died Friday at Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of the late George Stothard. She was born in North Smithfield, a daughter of the late Michael and Clara (Oleck) Gurski. Dorothy worked at Crest Manufacturing for twenty years before retiring in 2005. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
WOONSOCKET - Cecilia Laprade, 99, previously of Chateau Clare, died on Friday, December 5, 2014 in the Friendly Home. Born in Blackstone, she was a daughter of the late Pierre and Florilda (Thibeault) Courtemanche. Cecilia was the wife of the late Gerard Laprade.
Primarily a homemaker, Cecilia had also worked in the textile industry as a winder for many years.
Rena F. Sylvestre
NEW HAVEN, CT - Rena F. Sylvestre 92, of New Haven, CT died Tuesday December 2, 2014 at the Apple Rehab Center. She was born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Felix and Eva (Leclaire) Sylvestre. Rena was an executive secretary for CIT Financial and the FBI retiring in 1987. She was a volunteer for Birth Right of Greater New Haven, and a longtime parishioner of St. Mary's Church in New Haven.
Rena is survived by her sister Muriel Scimemi of Colorado Springs, CO and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Leo Sylvestre and Edna St. Germain.
