PUTNAM - Barthelemy "Bud" or Bart" Perreault, 89, of Elvira Heights, died Saturday, July 5, 2014 in UMass Memorial Hospital. He married his loving wife of over 50 years, Rita T. (LeClaire) Perreault on October 2, 1960 in Putnam. Born in Burrillville, RI, he was the son of the late Joseph and Teresa (Burke) Perreault.
Mr. Perreault was a WWII Navy Veteran. He went on to be a machinist for 18 years at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, retiring in 1987. He enjoyed crossword Puzzles and was a devout Boston Red Sox fan.
CUMBERLAND - Eugene R. Conway, well respected businessman, educator, and life-long resident of Cumberland Hill, died July 7. He was 92. Eugene turned the lessons learned from early success at selling apples from the family orchard into growing the family bus and tour company, Conway Tours. The lessons he learned from curiously dismantling radiators on frigid winter mornings were turned into a successful career as a Cumberland High School science teacher for 27 years, retiring in 1983. Although he never learned to swim, he was a navy veteran of WWII, attaining the rank of captain.
CUMBERLAND - Robert E. Daigle, 71, of Cumberland, passed away Friday, July 4, 2014. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Bernard and Cecile (Rivard) Daigle. Robert was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a big NASCAR fan and was often called NASCAR Bob.
WOONSOCKET - Richard G. Menard, 59, of Woonsocket passed peacefully June 24th, 2014.
Born in Middletown CT he was a son of Dolores (Schramm) Menard and the late George Menard.
A Loving Father of Jason Menard, Tracy Austin, Grand Father of Trenton Austin, Bonnie Young, David Young Jr. Brother of Mary Fields and Denise Ayotte.
Richard was a proud US Army Veteran having honorably served his country in Vietnam.
He was a skilled General Contractor and worked in the Maintenance Engineering Departments of various companies in Cranston
Norman D. Marshall
NORTH SMITHFIELD - Norman D. Marshall, 82, of Greenville Rd., died June 28, 2014.
Born in Blackstone, MA he is the son of the late Isadore Thibeault and Jeanne (Forget) Marshall. He is the adopted son of the late Manuel Marshall and the brother of the late Jeanne Letondress.
Rene Omar Berard
March 1, 1953-June 19, 2014
PORT ORANGE, FL - It is with great sadness that the family of Rene Berard announces his passing at the age of 61 on June 19, 2014 in Port Orange, Florida. On March 1, 1953, Rene was born in Woonsocket, RI and raised in Blackstone, Massachusetts. He is the son of the late Robert and Georgette (Laramee) Berard. He graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School in Milford, MA. He was employed for many years at Avery Dennison in Framingham, MA until he moved to Port Orange, Florida.
WOONSOCKET - Margaret (Linder) Symynkywicz, 91, of Woonsocket, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014 in Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Anthony Symynkywicz.
Born in Walterboro, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Maggie (Beach) Linder.
Margaret was an Avon lady for 57 years and had previously worked for Tech Industries. She was an active member of the former First Universalist Church, Woonsocket. Margaret was a community organizer for SPAC and TOCTA. She was a member of the Y Wives Club and the Clara Barton Guild.
Denise L. Gagne
DEERFIELD BEACH, FL. - Denise L. (Paul) Gagne, 60, of Deerfield Beach, FL formerly of Woonsocket and Bellingham, passed away on June 9, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis A. Gagne, former Woonsocket Firefighter, and the loving mother of Paul L. Gagne. She was the daughter of Gertrude P. (Beaulieu) Paul of North Smithfield and the late Leo E. Paul.
She leaves her brothers, John E. Paul and James L. Paul both of Woonsocket.
Warren Palmer Greene
WOONSOCKET - Warren Palmer Greene, 93, of Woonsocket, died Sunday June 29, 2014 in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. Born in Franklin, MA, he was the son of the late Palmer Newell and Elizabeth (Richards) Greene. He was the brother of the late Adelaide Greene and Dorothea (Gauvin) Greene.
He was employed by Whiten Machine Works and the Jamesbury Company before retiring in 1991. He was a founding member of the Blackstone Valley Amateur Radio Club, which he enjoyed immensely. He would talk with people all over the world using his call letters W1DOR.
Russell R. Sombaert
DOUGLAS, MA - Russell R. Sombaert 67, of Marilyn Dr. died Sunday, June 29, 2014 at the Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Helen (St. Germain) Sombaert. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Roger and Juliette (Dufresne) Sombaert. Russell was a draftsman for the Town of Natick, MA for thirty five years, retiring in 2004. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Helen in their motor home. Russell served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
