ST. PETERSBURG, FL- Emile R. Deslauriers, 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and children at his home in St. Petersburg, FL on Sunday February 9th, 2014.
Emile is survived by his wife, Rita (Belanger) and his 5 children, Lucille and her husband Richard LaBelle, Roger and his wife Robin Deslauriers, Vivian and her husband Richard Demers, Janet and her husband Phil Decato and Diane and her husband Ronald Goyette, nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Annette Rosatto of Woonsocket, RI.
WOONSOCKET - John Kozij, 91, of Getchell Ave died May 20, 2014. A lifelong resident of Woonsocket, he was the husband of the late Florence M. (Minot) Kozij.
Born June 24, 1922 he was the son of the late Elias and Victoria (Stevenson) Kozij and brother of the late Eugene Kozij. He is survived by two daughters, Janice Beyer and her husband Dr. Charles Beyer of Wellesley, MA and Patti St. Pierre and her husband Ron of East Greenwich, RI.
WOONSOCKET - Claire VanHouwe, 81, of Woonsocket, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014. She was the wife of the late Robert VanHouwe. Born in Whitinsville, MA, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Candide (Blouin) Baillargeon. Claire lived most of her life in Woonsocket.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Murray and her husband William, her son, Robert VanHouwe Jr. and his wife Suzanne, her sister, Ida Barnatt, and three grandchildren, Andrew Murray, Erica Curboy, and Amy VanHouwe.
PALMYRA, MAINE - Edith (Weatherburn) Albin, 100, passed away May 20, 2014 at a Pittsfield, ME nursing facility. She was born July 22, 1913 in Worcester, MA, the daughter of Hardy and Elizabeth (Crompton) Weatherburn. She lived in Uxbridge and Millville, MA before moving to Palmyra, ME in 2003 with her daughter.
She worked at the Whitin Machine Works in Whitinsville, MA during the war. She also worked as a waitress at Bernat Yarn Co. in Uxbridge, MA until her retirement. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, camping and fishing.
Claire E. Harnois
WOONSOCKET - Claire E. Harnois 64, of Second Ave., died Monday at Woonsocket Health and Rehabilitation Centre. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Leo and Claire (Bissonette) Beausoleil. Claire worked for the Polytop Corp. for several years.
She is survived by a son Anthony Bouley of Woonsocket, two daughters Michelle Bouley of Chepachet and Andrea Bouley of New Bedford, a brother Leo Beausoleil Jr. of Woonsocket, and a sister Anita Laferriere of FL. She was predeceased by her first husband Roland Bouley and a sister Diane Jacques.
WOONSOCKET - Violette Bonneau, 91, formerly of Privilege St. Woonsocket died Tuesday morning at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. She was the loving wife of the late Rene Bonneau. Born in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Diana (Sarazin) Durand. She was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mrs. Bonneau worked for the City of Woonsocket as a clerk of the Board of Canvassers for over ten years. She was a homemaker when she was raising her family. Violette will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Omer J. Lataille
BURRILLVILLE - Omer J. Lataille, 86, of Douglas Turnpike, died May 10, 2014 at home. He was the husband of the late Adele (L'Heureux) Lataille. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Joseph and Rose (Giguere) Lataille.
Mr. Lataille was a foundry worker for Draper Corp., Hopedale for nearly thirty years. He was a communicant of St. Theresa's Church, Nasonville.
Cynthia R. LeBlanc
WOONSOCKET - Cynthia R. LeBlanc, mother of two daughters. Fallon Flynn & Kelly LeBlanc, daughter of Robert Wood, passed away January 25, 2014.
Memorial Service will be held Friday May 23, at 11am at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Pascoag, RI. All are welcome to attend and remember her beautiful spirit and wonderful life.
Paulette R. Mercure
MILLVILLE - Paulette R. "Memere" (Boucher) Mercure, 64, of Millville passed away on Mon. May 19, 2014 in the Blaire House of Milford. She was the wife of the late Richard G. Mercure who died in 2008.
Paulette became the first female police officer in the town of Millville and was a dedicated public servant in the town holding many positions. She was presently employed as a mail clerk at the Worcester County House of Corrections for 9 years.
