Alfred E. Lavallee
CUMBERALND - Alfred "Fred" E. Lavallee, 67, of Main St, died Friday, March 7 at home. He was born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Eugene and Doris (Vermette) Lavallee.
He was a US Navy Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He worked as a sheet metal mechanic for Electric Boat in Quonset for many years until retiring in 1985. He was a bus monitor for the Cumberland School Dept for the last several years. Fred was an avid golfer, and enjoyed cooking.
Susan G. Giampietro Lloyd
SUTTON - Sutton Susan G. (Fagnant) Giampietro Lloyd, 62, of Sutton, died Fri. March 7, 2014 at her daughters home in Whitinsville. She was the wife of Ralph Webster Lloyd III and the late Robert Giampietro who died in 2009.
Susan was a housekeeper for many families in the greater Northbridge area. She was a member of the Living Hope Ministries in Whitinsville.
NORTH SMITHFIELD - Frances Siminski of North Smithfield died peacefully on March 6, 2014 at St. Antoine Residence. She was the wife of the late Joseph B. Siminski.
Born in Easthampton, MA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Michalina (Aczkiewicz) Olech, she lived most of her life in Forestdale.
Frances was employed by A.T. Cross for many years. She enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening, traveling, and crafts.
James L. Egan
STURBRIDGE - James L. Egan, 82, of Sturbridge, formerly of Cumberland, RI, a 20 year Air Force Veteran, passed away on Friday, March 7th, in the UMass Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester, after an illness.
Robert L. Carey
WOONSOCKET- Robert L. "Pee Wee" Carey, 74, of Woonsocket died peacefully Wednesday morning at home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Yvonne R. (Boucher) Carey. They were married on August 10, 1964.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Nelson and Simone (Lamothe) Carey. He was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mr. Carey was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was proud of his service to his country and lived his life according to the Marine Corps motto "Semper Fi".
Salvatore J. Butera
WOONSOCKET- Salvatore J. Butera, 89, of Rose Ave. ,died, Thursday March 6, 2014 in Landmark Medical Center with his family by his side. He was the husband of Rhea R. (Vachon) Butera. Sal and Rhea celebrated their 67th Wedding Anniversary on July 4, 2013.
Born in Woonsocket, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Kendra) Butera.
Mr. Butera was a United States Navy veteran serving in WWII.
He worked as a Resident Engineer Aide in Construction for the Rhode Island Department of Transportation, for 23 years, retiring in 1986.
David L. Poirier
SALEM, NH- David L. Poirier, age 52 of Salem, NH, died Friday, Feb. 28th in Al Udeid AB, Qatar, while serving in the US Air Force.
He was born in Woonsocket, RI, grew up and was educated in Blackstone, MA, where he graduated from Blackstone-Millville Regional High School.
Dave served in the Air Force for 22 years and was a MSGT for the 157th Air Refueling Wing, New Hampshire Air National Guard.
Alice R. Champoux
WOONSOCKET- Alice R. (Caron) Champoux, 96, formerly of Pond St. Parkview Apts., died Tuesday February 25, 2014 in the Oakland Grove Health Center with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Donat R. Champoux.
Born in Woonsocket, daughter of the late Louis and Clarinda (Lariviere) Caron.
Alice was a Homemaker.
George J. Rasmusson
WOONSOCKET- "Papa" George J. Rasmusson, 78, of 3rd Avenue, Woonsocket, died March 5, 2014 at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket.
Born in Tewksbury, MA he later moved to Woonsocket, where he lived most his life.
He worked for twenty years as a truck driver for Walt's Trucking, Uxbridge, MA. George was a member of the Lafayett Club and Club Par-X where he loved playing pitch, cribbage and dots.
Charles A. Leclerc
WOONSOCKET- Charles A. Leclerc, 72, of Pine St., died March 5, 2014 at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the husband of Yvette (St. Germain) Leclerc.
Born in Ware, MA, he was the son of the late Alpherie and Cecile (Lemay) Leclerc.
