Charles H. MacDonald
WOONSOCKET - Charles H. MacDonald, 87, of Cherry Hill Ave, died Saturday July 19, 2014 at the St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. He was the husband of the late Anita (Bastein) MacDonald. Born and brought up in Slatersville, he was the son of the late James and Hazel (Delsgard) MacDonald.
Camille G. Mandeville, Sr.
WOONSOCKET - Camille G. Mandeville, Sr., 82, of Woonsocket died Sunday morning at Home & Hospice Care Philip Hulitar Center in Providence. He was the loving husband of Estelle A. (Lemay) Mandeville. They were married on August 5, 1957.
Born in Woonsocket he was a son of the late Emilien and Florina (Jacob) Mandeville. He was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mr. Mandeville served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He was employed for over 30 years at Whittins Machine shop and also worked at Bryant University for several years.
Charles E. Switzer
WOONSOCKET - Charles E. Switzer, 93, of Valatie, NY and formerly of Woonsocket, RI died Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Barnwell Health Facilities in Valatie.
Born August 31, 1920 in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Scanlon) Schweitzer. Mr Switzer was a WWII US Army Veteran and worked for the former Tupperware Company as a Material Handler in Blackstone, MA for many years.
Diane R. Lajoie
WOONSOCKET - Diane R. (Desmarais) Lajoie, 65, of Mendon Road passed away Thursday at the Miriam Hospital, Providence. She was the beloved wife of Craig L. Lajoie, and they had been married for 45 years.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Raoul Desmarais and the late Germaine (Plante) St. George of Manville. She was a life-long resident of Woonsocket.
George J. McCarthy
WOONSOCKET - George J. McCarthy, 62, beloved husband of Patricia A.; loving father of Eric (Melissa), Heather, Laura Spurlock (Stephen), Gregory (Sheila); devoted granddad of Abigail, Owen, Colin, Tryston, Asher; adoring brother and best friend of Keith and Kathleen Fontenault; preceded in death by parents George R. and Doris (nee Perrault).
Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing Director Global Market Development, Sherwin Williams Company. Passed away Thursday July 17, 2014.
Michael J. Giroux
PROVIDENCE - Michael J. Giroux 60, of River Ave. died July 7th at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of David and Mary (Casey) Giroux of Woonsocket. Michael worked as a salesman for several years before becoming disabled. He served in the US Army.
Richard F. Dube
NORTH SMITHFIELD - Richard F. Dube 69, of Fairview Ave., died Wednesday at UMass Medical Hospital. He was the husband of Suzanne (Messier) Dube. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Sylvio and Edna (Renaud) Dube.
Richard was a Mathematics Supervisor for the Taunton School Department for thirty five years. He also worked as a Professor of Mathematics at RI College starting part time and later full time for a total of twenty years. Richard was an avid golfer and Red Sox fan and enjoyed playing cribbage.
Edgar J. Richard
NORTH SMITHFIELD - Edgar "Fast Eddie" J. Richard, 83, of Victory Highway, No. Smithfield, died July 15, 2014 at Miriam Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of Judith L. (Ranslow) Richard whom he married November 26, 1963. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Joseph and Loretta (Moreau) Richard.
He worked twenty-one years for the North Smithfield Highway Department before retiring in 1994. Ed also worked part-time at Stop & Shop, No. Smithfield for a period of time. He enjoyed watching old cowboy movies.
Raymond A. Plouffe
WOONSOCKET - Plouffe, Raymond A, 68 of Woonsocket, RI, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 1st, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Born in Woonsocket, a son of Rita (Vanasse) Plouffe and the late Armand J. Plouffe, he was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the 196th Light Infantry Brigade.
Raymond worked as a molder for the Cumberland Foundry for 43 years retiring in 2007.
Lorraine R. Hopp
WOONSOCKET - Lorraine R. (St. Germain) Hopp, 71, of Front St, died July 15, 2014 in Oakland Grove Health Care Center. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Adrien and Jeannette (Renaud) St. Germain. She was the wife of the late George Hopp.
Lorraine had worked at ACS Industries for thirty years, retiring in 1987. She was a cat lover and enjoyed playing Bingo and card games.
