Ernest E. Sauvageau
WOONSOCKET - Ernest E. Sauvageau, 90, of Woonsocket, died Monday, July 7, 2014 in the Friendly Home. He was the husband of Cecile J. (Daignault) Sauvageau. Born in Woonsocket, RI, he was the son of the late Alfred and Edith (Woodward) Sauvageau.
Ernest was an experimental machinist for Dennison Manufacturing, Framingham for 25 years, retiring in 1986. He was a communicant of St. Charles Church, a member of the Park View Social Club and the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers Union.
Paul A. Morel
CUMBERLAND - Paul A. Morel (Moe) 75, of Cumberland, and formerly of Mendon Rd. Woonsocket, died Saturday at Philip Hulitar Center. He was the beloved husband of Marcelle "Marcy" (Jolicoeur) Morel. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Dolor and Emma (Paul) Morel. He was a 1956 graduate of Mount St. Charles Academy.
WOONSOCKET - Lydia Torres 74, of Roberta Ave. died Friday at Woonsocket Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of Juan E. Torres Gomez whom she married in Rio Piedros, Puerto Rico in February of 1967. Born in Adjunta, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of the late Raphael Quiles and Gloria Maria Natal.
Lydia worked as a DCYF certified child care assistant for Belisle Home Day Care in Woonsocket for eight years. She was a very active volunteer and teacher in her church. Lydia was a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt and will be sadly missed by all.
COREA, ME - Wallace Learned Holt, 84, of Corea, Maine died peacefully on June 14, 2014 in Millbridge, Maine. He was the husband of Marjorie (Forsythe) Holt. Born in Woonsocket, the son of the late Wallace Sumner Holt and Amy (Barker) Holt.
Wally left Woonsocket in 1948 to enter the US Marine Corps and served in the Korean War. He settled in Corea, Maine in 1974 and was a longtime employee of Northwest Airlines, retiring in 1992.
NO. SMITHFIELD - Mary Gauthier, 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 10, 2014, at the St. Antoine Residence in North Smithfield, R.I. Born in Fall River, Mass., she was the beloved daughter of Antonio and Maria Mello. Mary was always the apple of her father's eye, and why not? She was always a glass half-full person who loved people and was loved in return.
Gladys S. Surbuts
BURRILLIVILLE - Gladys S. Surbuts, 90, of Harrisville, RI, passed away while surrounded by her loving family on July 3, 2014 at the Overlook Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Pascoag.
She was the loving wife of 67 years to George Surbuts.
She was born in Woonsocket, RI, a daughter of the late James & Bertha (Andrew) Shaw.
Brian P. Lizotte
WOONSOCKET - Brian P. Lizotte, 56, died peacefully at Trinity Health Center on June 20, 2014. He was a Master Sergeant and Military Police in The National Guard. He was also a Mailman for the City of Woonsocket and was also a Town Hall representative for the town of Blackstone, Massachusetts.
Mr. Lizotte, was the son of Peter Lizotte and Lucille Lizotte Savage. Mr. Lizotte also leaves behind, a brother, Dennis Shawn Lizotte of Millville, a daughter Denise Martel of Woonsocket and one grandchild. He is laid to rest in Exeter, Massachusetts.
Therese J. Gaunt
WOONSOCKET - Therese J. Gaunt 94, of 100 Front St., died Tuesday at home. She was the wife of the late Clifton Gaunt. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Alphonse and Emelie (Frechette) Charest. Therese worked in several area textile mills including the Bonin Spinning for many years, before moving to California where she owned and operated Rancho Grande Travel Club and traveled the world. She resided in California for twenty years, before moving back to Millville, MA in 1990. She volunteered for numerous organizations throughout her lifetime.
Russell R. Moison
WOONSOCKET - Russell R. Moison, 55, of Fairmount Street, died July 8, 2014 in his home. He was the husband of the late Helen J. (Parenteau) Moison. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of Lucille (Legare) Moison of Woonsocket and the late Rene
He worked as a real estate agent for Fontaine Real Estate, Woonsocket. Russell served in the United States Army and was a member of the Italian Workingmen's Club, the Cercle Laurier, and V.F.W. Post 85 here in Woonsocket, he also belonged to the Rhode Island Realtors Association.
David M. Gagnon
PAWTUCKET - David M. Gagnon, 48, of Beecher St. died Saturday, July 5, 2014.
He was the husband of Robin (Harpin) Gagnon, of Pawtucket, R.I.
Born in Woonsocket, son of Jeannette (Desrochers ) Gagnon, of Woonsocket, and the late Robert Lâ€™Esperance
He was veteran of the United States Army.
David worked as a clerk, for Vieolia in Stoughton, MA. prior to becoming disabled.
