NO. SMITHFIELD- Eleanor M. O'Donnell, of No. Smithfield, died peacefully, in the comfort of her own home, on Thursday, September 13, 2012.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Winifred (Gunnigan) McMichael. She met her husband Jim, married and moved to No. Smithfield in 1950, where she resided until her death.
Lionel J. Richards
Lionel J. Richards 102, of 429 East School St. died Saturday at Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of Rena (Gros Louis) Richards. Mr. and Mrs. Richards celebrated their 70TH Wedding Anniversary November 22, 2011. Born in Woonsocket September 12, 1910, he was a son of the late Arthur and Matilda (Corbeille) Richards. Mr. Richards worked for the former Woonsocket Comb for forty nine years before retiring. He also gave piano lessons and was a piano technician for over twenty five years. Mr. Richards was a member of the Beethoven Club and the Music Union # 262.
Lawrence C. Mineau
WOONSOCKET- Lawrence C. "Larry" Mineau, 66, of Willow St, Woonsocket, died Thursday morning at Trinity Health and Rehabilitation Center. Larry was the longtime companion of Linda Kelvey.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Joseph and Wilhelmina (Bosma) Mineau. He remained a lifelong resident of the city.
Larry was employed at ACS Inc. in Woonsocket for 38 years until retiring.
Virginia M. Rijo
WOONSOCKET- Virginia M. Rijo 86, resident of North Smithfield passed away September 15, 2012, surrounded by her loving family at the Oakland Grove Health Center.
She was the devoted wife to the late Manuel Gaspar Rijo.
She was born in Seada, Portugal, a daughter of the late Manuel & Barbara (Alves) Pedro. She immigrated to the United States with her family in 1966.
Alice M. Pearson
WOONSOCKET- Alice M. (Daigneault) Pearson 85, of Hemond Ave, died Wednesday in the Friendly Home. She was the wife of Rene Pearson with whom she celebrated their sixty first wedding anniversary in June of this year.
She was born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Aime Daigneault, and the Mary (Koury) Daigneault.
Orise B. Benoit
WOONSOCKET- Orise B. "Blanche" Benoit 92, formerly of East School St. died Tuesday at the Friendly Home. She was the wife of the late Arthur F. Benoit Sr.
Born in the Olneyville section of Providence, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Louise (Ducharme) Pero.
Joan O. Carlson
BURRILLVILLE- Joan O. (Nelson) Carlson, 84, passed away Wednesday September 12, 2012. She was the wife of the late Richard W. Carlson.
Mrs. Carlson was born in Providence, a daughter of the late Andrew and Jenny (Stenberg) Nelson.
She lived in Warwick for 44 years before moving to Burrillville 3 years ago. She was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church of Warwick and a member of Pioneer Lodge #506, Order of Vasa.
Joseph R. Landi Jr.
HARRISVILLE- Joseph R. Landi Jr. 65, died peacefully on Monday September 10th surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was the husband of Michelle (Dean) Landi.
Born in Woonsocket, he is the son of Joseph R. Landi Sr. of North Smithfield and the late Alice (Gelinas) Vose.
Shirley E. Fish
BURRILLVILLE- Shirley E. (Steiner) Fish, 82, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2012 in Overlook Nursing Home, Pascoag. She was the wife of the late George H. Fish. They had resided on Rock Ave. Pascoag. Born in Pascoag, she was the daughter of the late George and Viola (Lunn) Steiner.
Mrs. Fish was a mill worker in area mills for many years, she later went to school and became a Nurse. She worked in the former Lying-In Hospital in Providence. She was a dedicated member of her church; Chepachet Union Church in Glocester.
WOONSOCKET- Richard Enright, 63, passed away on Sept. 2nd, at his home. Born Sept, 7, 1948, he was the son of the late Francis & Pauline (Silvia) Enright.
Richard is survived by 2 brothers John & Ronald Enright both of Woonsocket, 3 sisters, Barbara Heroux & Linda Byam, both of Woonsocket & Patricia Pierce of Michagan. He was the brother of the late Maurice Enright and life partner of the late Gregory Bridges, He also leaves several nieces & nephews.
