BURRILLVILLE - DAngelo, Antonio, Tony, 95, of East Ave., Oakland, RI died Dec. 7, 2011 at the Overlook Nursing Home in Pascoag. He was the husband of the late Lucille R. (Couture) DAngelo.
Born in Esmond, son of the late Carmelo and Maryan (Campagna) Dangelo. Tony was also fondly known as The Chief to many who knew him because of his standing and respect within his extended family.
BURRILLVILLE - Kathleen H. (Pappandrea) Christiaen, 93, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011 in St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Albert Christiaen. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Calderon) Pappandrea.
Kathleen was a homemaker.
She is survived by a son, Frank M. Christiaen of Pascoag, two nieces, Joyce Raabe of CT and Constance Houser of NC and two nephews, Robert Lofgren of SC and Richard Lofgren of FL.
FARMINGTON, MO - Lorraine (Briere) Bertrand, 67, of Farmington, MO., died Wednesday morning at Stockhoff Nursing Home in Frederick, MO.
Mrs. Bertrand worked as a caterer at Monday Morning Industries in Woonsocket, RI, before moving to Missouri.
She leaves behind her father, Aurele Briere; a daughter, Pamela (Bertrand) Woody and her daughters, Marissa Stanford, Abbigail Stanford, and Angela Stanford; a son, Marc Bertrand and his son, Adam Bertrand; two sisters, Paulette (Briere) Martin and Janet(Briere) Haczynski; and five brothers, John, Thomas, David, Raymond and William Briere.
MT. LAUREL, NJ - Jeannette Rose Levesque, 91, formerly of Mt. Laurel, NJ died, Tuesday, December 6, 2011 in Hamilton Continuing Care in Hamilton, NJ.
Born in Woonsocket, RI, Mrs. Levesque was a resident of Mt. Laurel for several years before moving to Hamilton.
Mrs. Levesque had served as a Lay Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Good Counsel R. C. Church in Moorestown, NJ, was a great seamstress and enjoyed cooking.
She was the wife of the late John E. Levesque Sr., mother of the late Richard Levesque, and sister of the late Albert Menard and Sylvia Mondor.
BELLINGHAM - Ernest L. Veins, 90, of Pulaski Blvd. died Monday November 28, 2011, at home with his family by his side.
He was the husband of Blanche (Robert) Veins.
Born in Woonsocket, son of the late Pierre and Clara (Denault) Veins.
Mr. Veins was owner and operator of Veins Auto Body and also worked as a clerk at Benney's for 20 years.
He was a United States Army Veteran serving in WWII.
WOONSOCKET - Helen (Bartnick) Carpenter, 87, a resident of the Friendly Home passed away peacefully on Sunday at the Friendly Home, she was the loving wife of the late Albert Carpenter.
Born May 17, 1924, in Woonsocket she was the daughter of the late Ignatius & Rosalia (Karczewska) Bartnick, she resided in Woonsocket all her life Helen was employed as a clerk at the former Whitinsville Machine Shop until retiring, previously, she was employed for 27 years, at the former Uniroyal Co. in Woonsocket.
CUMBERLAND - Roland J. Cormier, 83, of Knoll Crest Drive, Cumberland, died Wednesday at Miriam Hospital in Providence. He was the loving husband of Fernande Y. (Parent) Cormier. They were married on June 10, 1950.
Born and raised in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late George and Rose (Gileau) Cormier. He lived in Albion for several years and resided in Cumberland for over 45 years.
Mr. Cormier was a graduate of Mount Saint Charles Academy, Class of 1945. He also attended Massachusetts State College (now UMass) at Amherst.
LINCOLN - DeCotis Joan, M (Godin) a longtime teacher of the Cumberland Public and Woonsocket Catholic School systems, passed away Wednesday morning at her home surrounded by her loving family, after a fifteen year long battle with lung cancer. She was 67.
BLACKSTONE - Pearl V. (Plante) Gauthier, 83, of Blackstone St., died Sunday, December 4, 2011 in Blackstone Nursing Home. Her husband of 63 years, Rene L. Gauthier, died July 7, 2011.
Born in Woonsocket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Romeo T. and Flore Ida (Gaulin) Plante.
Pearl was a molder and coordinator at the Tupperware Corporation for 24 years, until her retirement in 1984. She enjoyed gardening and bowling and was an avid Patriots fan.
WOONSOCKET - Johnie Allen, 89, of Rhodes Ave., died December 4, 2011, in the Oakland Grove Health & Rehabilitation Center, with his family by his side. He was the husband of Ulersee (Scurry) Allen.
Born in Newbury, South Carolina, son of the late Frances (Spearman) Allen.
Mr. Allen was a United States Army Veteran, serving in WWII. Mr. Allen worked for the US Rubber Co. for 25 years and also for the Woonsocket School Department for 16 years.
