Estelle R. Pandolfi
MANVILLE- Estelle R. Pandolfi, 93, of Sayles Hill Rd., Manville, died Friday morning at The Holiday. She was the wife of the late Albert J. Pandolfi.
Born and raised in Cumberland, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Laura (Ritchotte) Lachappelle.
Mrs. Pandolfi moved to Manville upon her marriage in 1937 and later lived for 16 years in Ashland, MA. She returned to Manville in 1971 and remained in her home on Sayles Hill Rd. until she took up residence at The Holiday 11 years ago.
In her earlier years Mrs. Pandolfi was employed at the Manville Jenckes Mill.
Eva M. Lambert
CUMBERLAND- Eva M. Lambert, 100, of Cumberland, died Thursday at Oakland Grove Health Care Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Maxwell E. Lambert.
Born in Manchaug MA, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Arzelia (Dussault) Marquis.
She is survived by her brothers Sylvio Marquis of Pennsylvania and Lucien Marquis of N. Smithfield, 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Lambert was the mother of the late Robert R. Lambert and Lorraine Bucci and the grandmother of the late David Bucci.
Jerod W. Place
BURRILLVILLE- Jerod W. Place, 74, resident of Mapleville, died August 2, 2011 at Landmark Medical Center.
Born on September 4, 1936 in Chepachet RI, a son of the late Harold & Bertha (Gauvin) Place.
He worked for the Zambarano Hospital for twenty five years; previously he did construction and worked in area textile mills. He enjoyed fishing and going to the race track. He was US Navy of the Korean Conflict.
Robert A. Blais
WOONSOCKET- Robert A. Blais, 73, of Monty Ave., died Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of Cecile A. (Lapierre) Blais whom he married on July 04, 1958.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of Albert W. Blais of No. Smithfield and the late Helena (Hebert) Blais.
He was a proud Graduate of Mount St. Charles Academy. His interest included woodworking, golf, and all New England sports teams. Above all he enjoyed the various ministries that he was fortunate to be involved in.
Claire L. Durand
WOONSOCKET- Claire L. (Fortin) Durand, 78, of Woonsocket, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at St. Antoine Residence with family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Edgar J. Durand.
Born in Woonsocket on December 10, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Arthur C. and Laurette J. (Tetreault) Fortin.
Eleanor M. Guerin
CUMBERLAND- Guerin, Eleanor M. (Crook), 84, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, August 3, 2011. She was the wife of the late E. Normand Guerin.
Born in Slatersville, she was the daughter of the late James H. and Mary Etta (Meade) Crook. Mrs. Guerin had lived in Cumberland since 1952.
Irene F. Loens
WOONSOCKET- Irene F. (Lagace) Loens, 89, formerly of Diamond Hill Rd. died Wednesday at Woonsocket Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late George Loens.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Carmella (Tremblay) Lagace.
Irene was a graduate of the RI School of Practical Nursing and worked as an LPN for the former Mercy Hospital for ten years, and the former Fogarty and Woonsocket Hospitals for seventeen years before retiring. She was a member of the Divine Mercy Devotion and the Sr. Citizens Christian Group.
WOONSOCKET- Doris Chapdelaine, 102, of Social St., died Monday, August 1, 2011 in Overlook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pascoag.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Louisa (Savageau) Chapdelaine.
Doris attended her first two years of high school in Canada and returned to Woonsocket to graduate from the former St. Claire High School. She continued her studies at various schools including, Brown, taking courses to round out her education.
Dolores R. Jalette
NORTH SMITHFIELD- Dolores R. Jalette, 82, of Victory Highway, died Wednesday August 3, 2011 in the Ballou Home after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Richard J. Jalette.
Born in Woonsocket, daughter of the late Louie and Josephine (Forget) Lavallee.
Mrs Jalette was a Homemaker.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Senior Citizens and Royal Travelers.
