John A. Cook
OCEAN PINES, MD - John Anthony Cook, age 89, died July 4 2014 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. Born in Brookville, PA he was the son of the late John Wesley and Margaret Hartnett Cook. He was preceded in death by his lifelong friend, Walter A. Brown. He is survived by his "adopted" family, Walter's sons and daughters, their spouses, children and grandchildren.
Howard N. Gardner, Jr.
WOONSOCKET - Howard N. "Red" Gardner, Jr. of Woonsocket died Saturday afternoon at home. He was the loving husband of Mary I. (Connolly) Gardner. They were married on May 26, 1989.
Born in Tracy, Connecticut he was a son of the late Howard N. Gardner, Sr. and Loretta (Gosselin) Gardner. He was a graduate of North Attleboro High school and resided in Attleboro for over 35 years before moving to Woonsocket.
BLACKSTONE - Edna Derois, 84, of Blackstone, MA, formerly of Central Falls, died Friday at Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Lucien A. Derois. Born in Central Falls, she was a daughter of the late Armand and Anna (Provost) Berube.
Prior to her retirement in 1993, Mrs. Derois had been employed as a cashier Almac's Stores. She had been a member of Union Local #328 U.F.C.W.
David M. Day
BURRILLVILLE - David M. Day, 33, passed away Thursday Aug. 7, 2014 at home in Harrisville. He was the beloved husband of Amy (Warhol) Day whom he married May 26, 2012. Born in Cleveland, TN, he was the son of Regina (Hackney) Hice of Cleveland, TN, and the late Tommy Day.
David was a landscaper and handyman.
He was the loving father of Juan and Mia Carrasquillo of Harrisville, Breaunna Day on Lincoln, and Nevaeh Day of Palatka, FL. He is also survived by two brothers, Christopher Moya of Chattanooga, TN, and Lindsey Moya of Athens, TN.
Dr. Constance K. Gray
SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Dr. Constance K. Gray (Grodski) (nee Krasowska) died peacefully Thursday with her sister at her side at the Vi @ Silverstone Community in Scottsdale, AZ. She was 96.
She was born in Woonsocket, RI, and lived most of her life in Union, NJ with her husband, Stanley Gray (Grodski), who preceded her in death in 1997.
She was the daughter of Zophie Golembiowska and Boleslaw Krasowski who immigrated to the US from Poland and settled in Woonsocket, RI.
Alfreda F. Peloquin
WOONSOCKET - Alfreda F. Peloquin, 95, formerly of Greene St. Woonsocket died peacefully Friday afternoon with her family by her side at The Friendly Home. She was the wife of the late Lionel E. Peloquin.
Born in St. Michel-des-Saints P.Q. Canada she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Leonie (Delorme) LaBreche. She came to the United States with her family as a small child and was a lifelong resident of Woonsocket.
Patrick R. Levesque, M.D.
LINCOLN - Patrick R. Levesque, M.D., 85, of Old River Road died Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the beloved husband of AndrÃ©e (Julien) Levesque. Dr. and Mrs. Levesque were married for 56 years.
Born in Quimby, Maine, a son of the late Louis and Antoinette (Cyr) Levesque, he lived in Cumberland for 34 years before moving to Lincoln 13 years ago.
Paula Staples Burrell
BLACKSTONE, MA - Paula Staples Burrell, 67, formerly of Blackstone, MA, died on July 24, 2014 at her home in East Lempster, NH. She was the daughter of the late George and Pauline Staples of Blackstone.
Paula is survived by her five children: her two sons Kenneth and Keith Cranshaw, and her three daughters Patricia Prudhomme, Pauline and Penny Cranshaw; as well as, fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Thelma F. Steffancci
RENO, NV - Thelma F. (Bailey) Steffancci, 94, of Round Robin Lane, Reno and formerly of Woonsocket, died July 25, 2014 at home. She was the wife of the late Charles P. Steffancci. Born in Lincoln, she was the daughter of the late Leon A. and J. Inez (Pratt) Bailey.
Lucille C. Ryan
BLACKSTONE - Lucille C. (St. Jean) Ryan, 81, of Blackstone died August 5th at Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Michael Ryan who died in 2005.
She was born in Woonsocket, RI; daughter of the late Leo and Antoinette (DeCelles) St. Jean. She was raised in Woonsocket and attended St. Claire's High School.
Mrs. Ryan and her late husband owned & operated the former Ryan's Variety store on Main St. in Blackstone. She had also been employed at various times by U.S. Rubber, Tech Industries and S.M.O.C.
