NORTH SMITHFIELD - Peter Klara, 94, a resident of the St. Antoine Residence, passed away peacefully on Sunday at the Residence.
Born August 5, 1916, in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Martin & Stefania (Wawszkiewicz) Klara. He resided in Woonsocket and also in Blackstone, MA before entering the St. Antoine Residence.
Peter was a steward for the former Woonsocket Tanks Football Club on River St. for many years retiring in 1990. He was a WWII Navy veteran, serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He was an avid New England & New York Yankee sports fan.
BURRILLVILLE â€“ Doris P. (Gosselin) Lefevre, 94, of Rock Ave., and formerly of Wells St., Woonsocket, died Dec. 4, 2010 at Overlook Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Lefevre, Sr.
Born May 25, 1916 in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Fred and Clara (Edmonds) Gosselin.
Doris worked for the former Health Tex in Pawtucket for 25 years before retiring in 1980.
She was a member of the Royal Travelers and St. Agathaâ€™s Seniors.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph A. Lefevre, Jr of Foster and Robert Lefevre of Conway, SC and two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Louisa Y. Lachance
NORTH SMITHFIELD- Louisa Y. Lachance, 93 died Wednesday at St. Antoine Residence. She was the wife of the late Antonio E. Lachance.
Mrs. Lachance was born in Woonsocket a daughter of the late Louis and Yvonne (Belliveau) Plasse.
She worked as a nurse's aide at the former Woonsocket Hospital for fifteen years before retiring. She was a cook for the priests at Precious Blood Rectory and for the Brothers of the Sacred Heart. Mrs. Lachance was an advocate for selfless service, she was a Eucharistic minister, and enjoyed spending her time knitting and painting.
HARRISVILLE- Alice (Moulson) Doiron, 73, of Harrisville, RI passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the Pine Grove Health Center, Pascoag, RI with family by her side. She was the beloved wife for 55 years of Armand Doiron.
Born August 30, 1937 in Woonsocket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Jeannette (Glaude) Moulson.
Adrien R. Mayer
NO. SMITHFIELD- Adrien R. "Babe" Mayer, 87, of Great Rd., died Thursday, December 2, 2010 in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of Marie Ann (Vadenais) Mayer and the late Fern (Cloutier) Mayer.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Raymond and Alice (Duhamel) Mayer.
Roger J. Lachance
WHITINSVILLE- Roger J. Lachance, 75, of Douglas Rd. died Wed. Dec. 1 at St. Vincent Hospital after an illness. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Pauline D. (Beaudoin) Lachance; his brother Raymond Lachance of N. Smithfield; and several nephews and nieces.
Born in Woonsocket, RI on June 17, 1935 he was son of the late Ferdina L. and Marie R. (Rondeau) Lachance and lived in Whitinsville since 1962.
MANVILLE- Katherine (Horbaychuk) Joinville, 85, of Church St. Manville, died Monday, November 29, 2010, in Landmark Medical Center, with her family by her side.
She was the wife of the late Henry L. Joinville.
Born in Woonsocket, daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Kiczak) Horbaychuk.
Kitty worked for Puritan Peterson Assembly and also as a repair clerk for New England Telephone for 10 years, retiring in l981.
Muriel B. Lafond
BLACKSTONE- Muriel B. Lafond, 67, of Blackstone, loving and devoted wife of Normand R. Lafond, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, November 26, 2010. She and Normand recently celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary. She was the daughter of the late J. Almanzor and Annette (Berube) Pelletier .
CUMBERLAND- Pauline Bruneau-O'Hara (Marcotte), 75, of 238 Ann St. died Monday in the Miriam Hospital, Providence. She was the beloved wife of Wilfred O'Hara Sr.
Born in Bellingham she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Aurore (Barrette) Marcotte. She resided in Cumberland for the past 36 years.
Mrs. O'Hara was an avid bingo player.
Cecile M. Mailloux
TAUNTON, MA- Cecile M. Mailloux, 69, of Fall River, formerly of Woonsocket, died Thursday at Morton Hospital in Taunton, MA. She was the wife of Alphonse Mailloux.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Leo and Antonia (Bourget) Cote. She was a graduate of St. Clare high school class of 1958.
Upon her graduation she entered the Sisters of the Religious of Jesus and Mary and was known in Religious life as Mother Mary of the Immaculate Heart.
Following her 16 years in religious vocation she was a teacher in the Fall River public schools for many years.
