Lillian L. Vachon

WOONSOCKET- Lillian L. (Brodeur) Vachon, 87, of So. Main St., died Friday, December 10, 2010 at home. She was the wife of the late Robert L. Vachon.
Born in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Armand and Louisa (Morel) Brodeur.
A seamstress by trade, Mrs. Vachon worked at the former Woonsocket Dress Co. and retired in 1983 as a manager for the former Fashion Sportswear, Woonsocket. She was a Communicant of Holy Family Church, member of its choir and past President of its Parent Teacher Association. She enjoyed quilting and geneology.

WOONSOCKET Mrs. Mary (Descy) Michaud, 94, of Rhodes Ave., and formerly of Rathbun St., Woonsocket, died Dec. 11, 2010 at The Friendly Home.
Born July 3, 1916 in No. Chelmsford, Ma, a daughter of the late Harry and Mary (St. Cyr) Descy.
Mary was a homemaker and enjoyed being a caretaker of the grandchildren.
She was a lifelong Woonsocket resident and former communicant of St. Ann's Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Terry Kell of Lincoln; a son Robert Michaud; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren.

JOHNSTON- Scorpio, Rita J. (Dunphy), 91, died on December 11, 2010 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital after a short illness. She was the wife of the late George A. Scorpio for seventy-one years.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Dr. George and Jenny Dunphy.
Mrs. Scorpio lived in Johnston, Cumberland and since 2003 at Pocasset Bay Manor, Johnston. Mrs. Scorpio was a long time member of the St. Thomas Women's Club and the Providence Women of Rotary.

WOONSOCKET- Hugo G. Conati, 93, of St. Agnes Avenue died Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the husband of Cecile R. (Nolette) Gilbert Conati and the late Anna (Ansel) Conati.
Born in Cumberland, a son of the late Angelo and Alice (Bernique) Conati, he had lived in Woonsocket for the past 56 years.
Mr. Conati was the Chief of Division of Fiscal Affairs in the Rhode Island Department of Employment Security before retiring in 1982.

NORTH SMITHFIELD- Dorothy M. (Coupe) Lavoie, 89, formerly of No. Smithfield passed away Dec. 10, 2010 at the South County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in No. Kingstown.
Loving wife to the late Gerard L. Lavoie.
Born in Woonsocket RI, a daughter of the late Eugene C. & Margaret (McGarrity) Coupe.
Dorothy was a graduate of RI College of Education and taught in the Woonsocket School System for thirty years.

Hialeah, FL - Joseph "Al" DesRochers 84, of Hialeah, FL died November 20, 2010 in Melborne, FL. He was the husband of the late Midge (Bromley) DesRochers. Mr. DesRochers was born in Woonsocket a son of the late Albert and Alice (Weber) DesRochers. He retired as a Lieutenant from the Hialeah fire department where he worked for over twenty years. He was a WWII and Korean War Air Force Veteran and a member of the American Legion in FL. Al was an avid hunter and loved to sail.

Cavallo, Florence A. (Chasse) 88, of Cumberland, died Saturday, December 04, 2010 at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Rocky J. Cavallo. They were happily married for 63 years. She was a resident of Cumberland for the past 58 years. Florence was the only child of Albert and Leonie (Gladue) Chasse. She was born, raised, and educated in Woonsocket and attended Hill College. For the past 40 years, she was a homemaker. She was previously employed at US Rubber, in the garment industry, and finally in the office of Ann&Hope factory outlet.

Armand J. Landini, 93, of Woonsocket, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Oakland Grove Health Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Sylvia (Troiani) Landini. Born in Woonsocket on October 16, 1917, he was the son of the late Jovanni and Carmela (Pierpaoli) Landini.
He was the loving father of Marie A. Paulhus of Yarmouth, MA and Nancy L. Landini and her husband, Gil Leclerc of Woonsocket; and his cherished three grandchildren and great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by his brothers Leno, Edelio, and Antonio Landini, and his son-in-law Lawrence R. Paulhus.
