Gladys W. Girard
NORTH SMITHFIELD - Gladys W. (Jardine) Girard, 81, formerly of Maplewood Drive, Mapleville, RI, died Thursday October 16, in St. Antoine Residence, with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Raymond N. Girard.
Born in Northbridge, MA, daughter of the late Harry and Annis (Hamilton) Jardine.
Mrs Girard worked on the assembly line for Miller Electric for several years prior to retiring.
She was a former member of the Burrillville Seniors.
WOONSOCKET - Leonard Houde, 94, formerly of Ridge St., died Thursday October 15, 2014 in the Friendly Home. He was the husband of the late Margurite (Martin) Houde.
Born in Fall River, MA, son of the late Henri and Marie Anne (Lemieux) Houde.
Mr. Houde worked as a truck driver and heating installer for Lozeau Oil and Beauchemin Oil for several years prior to retiring.
Gertrude C. Pignolet
WOONSOCKET - Gertrude C. Pignolet, 96, formerly of Unity St, died on October 17, 2014 in the Ballou Home, Woonsocket. She was a homemaker and the wife of the late Jules R. Pignolet. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Oliva and Gertrude (Coutu) Allard.
Gertrude was a Past-president of the Precious Blood Ladies Guild for four years. She also sang, participating in the Ebbtide Choir and the Precious Blood Choir.
Shirley A. Guerin
BLACKSTONE - Shirley A. (Melville) Guerin, 79, of Blackstone passed away Thurs. Oct. 16, 2014 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Henry J. Guerin who died in 1986.
Shirley had been employed as a home health care provider for 20 years before her retirement in 1999. Prior to that she had worked for the former Corning Medical in Medfield, and held a position as an electronic technician.
Muriel B. Aubin
WOONSOCKET - Muriel B. Aubin, 78, died Thursday, October 16, 2014 in the Friendly Home, Woonsocket. She was the wife of Joseph O.L. Aubin Sr, of Grove St, Woonsocket, to whom she had been married for fifty one years. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Derilda (Chabot) Chevalier.
Muriel had worked in the textile industry for many years at both Art Garment and Royal Robes. She enjoyed bowling, jigsaw puzzles and crochet.
Edgar N. Arcand
BELLINGHAM - Edgar N. Arcand, 80, of Bellingham, MA passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with dementia, on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the Blaire House Worcester with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband for 53 years of Denise C. (Begnoche) Arcand. Born in Bellingham on July 6, 1934, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Lillian (Bernier) Arcand.
Pearl Peters Frappier
WOONSOCKET - Pearl Peters Frappier, 86, of Burnside Ave., died October 12, 2014 in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Dollard Frappier. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Angele (Van Maldeghem) Peters.
In her earlier years, Mrs. Frappier worked for the former McCarthy's Dept. Store, Woonsocket. She volunteered at the St. Francis House, Woonsocket for 15 years. Mrs. Frappier loved to garden and especially enjoyed maintaining her rose garden.
Marguerite E. Carter
WOONSOCKET - Marguerite E. "Maggie" Carter, 84, of Woonsocket, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, at Landmark Medical Ctr. She was the loving wife of the late Alfred Vadenais & Eugene "Skippy" Carter. Born August 27, 1930 in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Joseph & Leone (Baillergeon) Lafleche.
NORTH SMITHFIELD - Mary (Carberry) Houle, 77, of Sunnycrest Ave., No. Smithfield died October 15, 2014 in St. Antoine Residence, No. Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Eugene S. Houle. Born in Worcester, MA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Catherine (Faron) Carberry.
Mrs. Houle worked as an assembler for A.T. Cross, Lincoln, retiring in 1988. She was also Co-owner of North East Structures. She enjoyed reading mysteries and playing cards.
Ernest A. Brissette
LINCOLN - Ernest A. Brissette, 84, of Manville, died peacefully at home on Monday, October 13, 2014 after being at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence. He was the loving husband of the late Florence M. (Hogue) Brissette.
Born in North Smithfield, he was the son of the late Ernest J. and Cora C. (Robidoux) Brissette. He was a Korean War veteran serving in the RI Army National Guard and in the US Army Reserves from 1947-1961. For over 50 years he worked as a machinist, last employed by Black & Decker, Tampa, FL. He enjoyed golfing and hockey.
