BRISTOL â€” When Burrillville High senior tri-captain Laura Hauser went home after school to grab her uniform Monday afternoon, there was a strange addition next to her jersey, laying right there on her bed.
â€śIt was about 2:30, and I found a lucky penny, with the head up,â€ť she explained. â€śMy mom said she didn't have any idea how it got there. I almost walked out of the house without it; I got to my car, then forgot I didn't have it, so I turned around and raced back to get it.
â€śI mean, I'm a superstitious person,â€ť she added.
For the eight football teams that succeeded in qualifying for the Division II postseason, the objective is crystal clear â€“ survive to play the Tuesday following Thanksgiving.
