PAWTUCKET – If recent history is any sort of indication regarding the Red Sox’s handling of minor league players with opt-out clauses written into their contracts, then expect pitcher Aaron Cook to head up to Boston next week.
PAWTUCKET — Leave it to the Yankees to spoil what would have been history-in-the-making for the Pawtucket Red Sox.
Standing just three outs away from extending their winning streak to a franchise-best 10 consecutive games, the PawSox watched as reliever Garrett Mock melted down in an 8-6 loss to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Wednesday afternoon at McCoy Stadium.
LINCOLN -- Cumberland High head coach Scott Carpenter couldn’t believe his good fortune when, back on March 19, two new girls claiming to be goalies showed up at to his first practice at Tucker Field.
“I was grinning ear-to-ear, and I know the girls were wondering why,” Carpenter chuckled. “We had two kids who had never played lacrosse before; they were (senior Kara Gorman and (freshman) Julia Eaton. From Day One, you could definitely see both had huge potential.”
