Northmen belt Novans, clinch Div. II-North title

May 21, 2012

NORTH SMITHFIELD -- Head coach Tom Bourgeois had told his lone starting senior, Sidra Ethier, that if she had to miss North Smithfield High’s home clash against Woonsocket on Monday, he more than understood.
After all, Ethier – ranked second in her class – was to accept a National Honor Society award later that afternoon, and he knew she had to properly prepare for the fete.
“She wanted to be here,” Bourgeois stated. “She told me, ‘No, Coach. I’m playing! It’s our Senior Day, and I’m going to be a part of it.’”
