Thornhill, Broncos bust out against Tiverton, 42-13

October 26, 2013

BURRILLVILLE – Last Saturday night, after Burrillville High had posted a solid 34-8 victory over Exeter/West Greenwich, head coach Gennaro Ferraro explained that – following three previous dismal blowout losses – he felt his squad was “rounding the corner.

“I thought the kids got bumped off their orbit a little bit … we needed this win, and we got it,” he noted. “I think we're back on track.”

If Saturday afternoon is any indication, the Broncos' thundering herd has … well, been heard, and who knows what to expect from them as November draws near.

WOONSOCKET – Saturday afternoon marked “Senior Day” for the Woonsocket High football team, and a pre-game celebration – one in which the dozen soon-to-be graduates issued flowers to their parents and/or guardians – must have had them feeling rather satisfied.

The inner peace didn't quite show itself during the 48 minutes of battling against Division II-A foe Toll Gate, but the gritty Villa Novans nevertheless left Barry Field with a 20-8 triumph.
