PROVIDENCE â€“ While his players hooted and hollered inside the dressing room, Burrillville High head coach Steve Daigle tried to explain how his crew â€“ after dropping a tough 1-0 decision to Barrington in the first game of this best-of-three R.I. Division I Tournament championship set â€“ managed a vastly different scenario on Saturday afternoon.
The hockey program at Mount St. Charles added another championship to its proud heritage on Saturday night after posting a 5-2 victory over La Salle Academy at Brown University's Meehan Auditorium. The victory completes a two-game sweep for the Mounties, who captured their 43rd state title.
