Sikie schools Barrington, allows only two hits in 5-3 Clipper win

June 6, 2014

BARRINGTON – When senior righty John Sikie is “feeling it,” he’s usually outstanding.

When he’s not, well, he’ll walk and/or hit batters, and indicates no real feel for the zone around the plate.

Excepting one inning on Friday afternoon, Sikie proved to be much more of the former. The co-captain manufactured a stellar two-hitter with two walks and a six strikeouts in a six-frame stint, propelling Cumberland High to a solid 5-3 victory over Barrington before at least 150 fans at Victory Field.
