Little League baseball | Cumberland American LL manager Dave Belisle to receive national honor

WOONSOCKET – On Saturday, Nov. 22, David Belisle, from the Mount Saint Charles Academy Class of 1977 and coach of Mount’s boys’ varsity hockey team, will be honored in St. Louis, Missouri at the Peabody Opera House as a recipient of the Musial Award. He is one of nine people being honored with this award in addition to Joe Torre, former manager of the New York Yankees and Baseball Hall of Famer, who is receiving the Stan Musial Lifetime Achievement Award for Sportsmanship.

WOONSOCKET – On the surface, Henry Coleman’s partnership with the Mount St. Charles boys’ basketball program is a marriage made in hoops heaven.

“I think we’ve got a special guy here,” said MSC athletic director Richard Lawrence about the athletic department’s newest hire, a person Lawrence says possesses “a tremendous passion for the sport.”

MANCHESTER, Conn. – A weekend after achieving first team all-state honors, Cumberland High junior Sean Laverty came in 34th place at Saturday’s New England Interscholastic Cross Country Championship. Laverty was clocked at 16:28 as the Clippers placed 15th out of 30 teams with 415 points.
