BURRILLVILLE -- The tradition after a Burrillville High football victory is for the coaches and players to hustle to the home stands at Alumni Field, and with the marching band knocking it out behind them, to sing the school’s fight song with the remaining faithful.

CENTRAL FALLS – North Smithfield withstood a stiff challenge from Central Falls on Friday night in a Division IV game that looked like a mismatch on paper, at least to those who don’t know the Warriors’ heart.
WOONSOCKET – The Villa Novans stand one win away from clinching the school’s first-ever first-place finish in boys’ soccer after a 5-2 win over Exeter-West Greenwich at a rain-soaked Barry Field on Thursday.
WOONSOCKET – Desperate for a victory if it wanted to earn a Division I post-season berth, Woonsocket High utilized two first-half tallies from senior Dacia MacNeill and freshman Tayla Darling to snatch a 2-0 upset triumph over Warwick Vets at Barry Field on rainy Thursday.
North Smithfield seemed ready to do its seniors proud on “Senior Night” Thursday after claiming a rather easy 25-18 verdict in the opening game against Lincoln, but the Lions roared back with three straight triumphs to post a thrilling 3-1 decision at the green-and-white-balloon-adorned Michael F. Lovett Memorial Gymnasium.
EAST PROVIDENCE – It doesn't matter when or where Mount St. Charles Academy and East Providence High face each other during the fall, fans are in for a tense, entertaining and gritty battle.
