“When you don’t perform to the best of your capabilities, it’s not a surprise,” the centerfielder acknowledged while recently standing in front of his locker inside the PawSox clubhouse.

MEDWAY, MA - Beatrice A. Robbins, 68, a special child of God, of Holliston St., Medway, MA passed from this life to eternal rest on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 in the Milford Regional Medical Center surrounded by family and her loving caregivers of over 30 years. She was born in Blackstone, MA to Earl E. Robbins, Sr. and Madeline (Dorrington) Robbins, the youngest of eight beloved children.

BURRILLVILLE - Thelma I. (Carter) Putnam, 90, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014 in Overlook Nursing Home, Pascoag. She was the wife of Kenneth W. Putnam Sr. of Pascoag, whom she married July 11, 1940. Born in Pascoag, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred Carter Sr. and Alice (Eldridge) Carter.
Thelma and her husband owned and operated the former Pascoag Super Market for 23 years and a charter fishing boat called the Gail Frances for 36 years, retiring in 1978. She was a long time member of Community Baptist Church, Pascoag.

WOONSOCKET - Shameeka Marie Coger, 16 of Morton Ave. died Friday August 15, 2014 in Landmark Medical.
Born in Boston, MA., daughter of Shamekia Coger - Young and Santonio Young of Woonsocket.
Shameeka was an 11th grade student at Woonsocket High School.
She enjoyed designing cloths, and spending time with her family and friends.

Woonsocket Public Housing Chief Robert T. Kulik reaches severance agreement with Woonsocket Housing Authority

WOONSOCKET - Robert T. Kulik, the executive director of the Woonsocket Housing Authority, and the agency's board of commissioners, reached a severance agreement Thursday.
The deal ends Kulik's employment with the WHA, effective Monday, but it allows him to collect his pay until the end of the year and includes his work vehicle as part of the package, according to Joseph Rodio, the WHA's legal counsel.
The salary amounts to $38,819.34, doled out in weekly installments of 2,156.63 starting Sept. 4.

N. Smithfield shopping complex to add two restaurants, other businesses

NORTH SMITHFIELD – Dowling Village is entering another growth spurt thanks to the completion of agreements with several new business and two national restaurant chains— Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar and Texas Roadhouse, a chain specializing in steaks with a western flavor.

The Eddie Dowling Highway property’s developer, Brian Bucci, on Thursday confirmed town reports that construction will begin soon on the new business locations with completion expected next year.
