KINGSTON – Rhode Island freshman Jared Terrell has produced the top three scoring performances of his young career in the URI’s last three games. The easy explanation for Terrell’s recent run of success is that leading scorer E.C. Matthews missed last week’s game against St. Bonaventure and was limited in the last two games because of a left toe injury.

The double-barrel blast of wintry weather that’s left around 3 feet of snow in the region in the span of a week has officials in the Blackstone Valley’s biggest cities asking themselves the same question: Where are we supposed to put all this white stuff?
“It not as much snow as Juno but it’s a tough storm,” Woonsocket Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt said. “When you’ve already got a lot of snow on the ground, it complicates things.”

Boys' Indoor Track | Clippers sail to Northern Division title

PROVIDENCE  – With senior Zen-ming Feng and junior Sean Laverty at the helm, Cumberland High coasted to yet another Northern Division Indoor Championships title with 209 points, an astonishing 162 more than runner-up Central Falls (47) at the Providence Career & Technical Academy field house on Saturday.

Feng captured the 55-meter and 300 dashes with respective times of 6.77 and 37.57, while stellar distance man Laverty claimed the 3,000 (9:06.12) and 1,000 (2:41.10).
